Re: Can raw diet cause dog drink excessively?

:pray Were hoping all turns out well for Sheba over here... I hate that everything is so expensive in CA, but you cant really but a price on our pets or peace of mind so everyone pays it. Keep us updated and once again were hoping for the best.

Re: I'm going to be sick.

Oh man, were keeping you in our thoughts over here. :pray

I would get a second opinion, for the sake of your dog and also there is no way I could wait 6 months to find out, that would drive me insane!

Re: Can raw diet cause dog drink excessively?

This is what we feed our dog (well not the chicken formula, but all others) and he has never had problems. We actually just started him on the rotation diet they recommend which includes feeding him the kibble they offer and I have noticed when he eats that he does drink more. So like pblove said, s...

Re: Pet Insurance

Does anyone know if your dog has had previous injuries does it make it harder to get approved for insurance or the premiums higher? For example, Gus has had exploratory surgery for an intestinal blockage, would this affect him getting insured or rates?

Re: What is your exercise schedule for your dog(s) each day?

We got lucky that Gus is pretty lazy, maybe lazy isnt the word since he is completely happy to be out running around all day too. But i guess he is content with lounging. His routine was a short jog/walk around the neighborhood at night, and either a 30 min walk at night, plus some intense fetch in ...

Re: Something wrong - Swollen eye and bumps all over

Thats exactly what Gus looked like!! See: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g115/tracy7486/GusFitzgerald634.jpg Hope your baby feels better soon. Gus had small hives still the next day, but his eyes were back to normal. He wasnt itchy at all either - so hopefully some benadryl will cure it!

Re: Something wrong - Swollen eye and bumps all over

Sounds like an allergic reaction. That happened with Gus - his eyes swelled almost all the way shut, we took him to the vet and they gave him a benadryl shot, which worked almost immediately. But he had hives over his whole body for the next 24hrs or so. We're not sure what got him, but the vet said...

Re: Strange Bloodwork

I'm so glad you found a way to work it out. And its good that you like the vet, it seems so much easier when you know they really care. The e-vet we had called us every hour through out the night to update us since she knew we were freaking out, it was so reassuring that she actually cared. Whenever...

Re: Strange Bloodwork

Glad she is doing better  Some things are really blessings in disguise, you may be tight on money now, but if you werent in school you might not have caught it until it was too late. I would take being broke w/ my dog any day over having money but no dog. I'll be pinching pennies for at le...

Sending good thoughts your way and hoping he gets better soon.

I hate that feeling when your dog is acting mopey/sad and you dont know whats wrong, makes you feel so helpless.

Re: Yeast, Allergies, and Raw Diet

We switched to raw and have seen vast improvements in allergies. Our dog cannot eat chicken (not even a little bit) so that might be the case with you. Also switching foods causes issues so you have to stick to it for a while to see how it will work out long term. From what it sounds like he may hav...
