Re: Paradoxical reaction to Xanax (alprazolam)

We used to take Xanax for  Recreational purposes... I noticed more than a time or two that if I fought the sleepy jello feeling it gives I'd end up in a really strange place right in between way too jacked up to stay awake and way too hyped up to sleep. A very unpleasant place to be. Perhaps t...

Re: Urinary incontinence? and. How to keep a diaper on a dog

We're definitely going to be going to the vet for testing and such, but until her appointment rolls around she's going to be wearing her "pretty pants" It took me hours to convince her that she didn't look stupid, she's so prim and proper. Sometimes I swear she's got a sense of style fit f...

Urinary incontinence? and. How to keep a diaper on a dog?

Help! I'll cover the accidents up top and down on the bottom I'll pose my question about the diapers so if you only want to read or tell me about canine diapering just skip to the bottom. For just my questions about the bladder issue just skip to the bottom of the first part. Ok so Stormy has been h...

Re: Reply to Female Genital Question

There's a huge amount of structural variation. Females that have reached sexual maturity and have had heat cycles are typically larger, though they can shrink up a bit after spaying (something to look forwards to). 2 of my 3 females are nice and tidy, but Soleil always looks like she's in heat. :go...

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

Alright, so we talked to Beethoven's vet and the local vet on Tuesday morning. Chino started the medication Tuesday evening with her supper. She gets one pill every 12 hours, she's always been a pain to give pills to but we discovered that a small slice of hotdog makes the medicine go down in the mo...

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

i have 3 essays to write, trade ya! I love to write! I'd make that trade i a heart beat if you loved closer lol Just got a call back from one of the vets, he said he thinks it may be a good idea to go ahead and start Chino on the thyroid pills and check her levels in a month. He's going to go over ...

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

That's pretty interesting! I may just have to look deeper into it while I'm waiting on callbacks from my vets :) Today is going to be loaded with fun, I'm trying to get Chino an appointment with a good vet, trying to get myself an appointment with a good chiropractor or an acupuncture person, phone ...

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

Misskiwi you are a divine being, thank you so much for taking the time to look that over! When we talk to the vet on Monday we'll go over the bloodwork again I'm sure but at least I'll have a direction in which to shove if they start throwing Diabetes around again. Then again, perhaps it's worth ano...

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

However, a high cholesterol can be another symptom of low thyroid, particularly if the dog is of good body weight and was fasted prior to the blood draw, so maybe your pup really is low... Forgot to add in the last post... Chino was fasted before the draw, I feed once daily, Chino ate at Noon time ...

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

There's other stuff reading off on the test, I'll copy and paste the test, perhaps that will offer some insight. It would be nice to kind of know which direction to go when talking to the vet. Plus I'm really going nuttier than you could imagine because I'm worried about my girl, also be nice to kno...

They were nice enough to send the test stuff as a PDF document as well, her Cholesterol is up and several other things are down.

Re: Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

The blood donation people were in the office today when I sent the e-mail asking for a fax on the bloodwork so the fax went through to my Grandmother at work. I had her read off the T4 information for me over the phone so I could post it here in case anyone knows about this stuff. "T4 result 0....

Low T4 level on Chino's most recent blood tests.

I just got an e-mail from the blood donation people about Chino's most recent run of bloodwork. We've had three vets run blood tests on her but none have said anything about her thyroid function, provided they even did check that, but hey we've known for months that she's not diabetic which seems to...

Re: Fed up. #$%^%#^$ fleas.

So far the neem oil is doing wonders for Moira's scabby sores and irritated spots. It smells terrible, and makes the dogs want to lick each other like crazy roflmao but she stopped scratching at herself, and her skin is looking much less red and inflamed. Can't tell yet if it is having an effect on...
