Re: Roommate thinks I shouldn't be segregating my pit

He said Duke and his boxer are scared of him which he believes is a preventive to any potential fights. Help! Why exactly is Duke and his boxer afraid of him? This alone would have me REQUIRING he be hands off my dog. I also wouldn't allow him to walk Duke and his boxer together unless you handed h...

Re: Need some emergency advice.

There's a few things to consider here. One is at 18 months Boo is reaching maturity, he will be forming adult attitudes towards other dogs. He may turn out to be dog aggressive or not no matter what you do. That being said, a Pit/beagle mix is going to need ALOT of exercise. They are both high energ...

Re: A quick note on interdog aggression in homes

or maybe the HSUS prophecy i heard from one of its dog-fighting experts who came to baltimore last year will come true: that eventually we'll dilute the pool of existing pit bulls so much that pit bulls WILL be the same drive level as generic dogs and have the same incidence of dog tolerance as any...

Re: At a loss... Eauthanise?? Please help!

With the heartache involved with such a decision, I hope it doesn't put you off to owning a pitbull. YOU are the exact type of people we need to own the breed, responsible with a heart. And I THANKYOU for giving Fate a chance at life. Unfortunately poor genetics have taken their toll and that is not...

Re: Idk wht to do!!

I really hope this works out well for you. But you might want to keep in contact with this family after the adoption. There is a possibility that in a yr or so their other Pit might not be so agreeable. By then your circumstances may have changed and you could take him back if neccessary. Just sayin

Re: At a loss... Eauthanise?? Please help!

It seems like today I am the dbl post bandit, but if things are tight (as they are all over. You are not alone) an evaluation should not be that expensive, and payments by visit might be worked out if it is determined they would be of value.

Re: At a loss... Eauthanise?? Please help!

I am also very sorry you are having to deal with this. But you have been given some VERY good advice. The bites are serious, the kittens are to be expected of almost any dog. I will pray that I am wrong, but after you have seen a good behaviorist I think the path will be more clear. :crybaby: I can ...

Re: A quick note on interdog aggression in homes

I think a little thought has to be given to the WAY pitbulls fight vs other breeds. I think this point alone requires that they be handled a little differently. Other breeds may bite a hundred times with little damage while the pitbull bites twice and there can be serious injury inflicted. The fact ...

Re: Traveling Nightmare!!!!

Traveling with animals requires a little more diligence. Immigration issues should of been worked out before you moved. That being said you are in a predicament. I would start cruising the docks looking for a stateside bound boat. Some one might be willing to transport your pupper for you...plan to ...
