Pet treats recalled in salmonella outbreak

I wasn't sure if this went here or in Health, but I thought more people would see it here From cnn.com (CNN) -- PetSmart is recalling seven of its Grreat Choice dog biscuit products because they contain peanut products made by a company that has been linked to a salmonella outbreak in 43 states and ...

Peanut is even better today at letting us mess with her paws. As long as her dinner is down and she hasn't been released, she lets us hold her paw and trim a nail. I'm trying to get to the point where she doesn't yank her paw out after the nail is clipped. I am rereading the dremmel article. The thi...

Sometimes it takes a lot of time. And it's a slow thing. Peanut is paw shy. She doesn't bite but she yanks her foot out of your hand. We tried having the SPCA clip her nails (there was a dog fair and they're very experienced) and they couldn't - she fought so hard to get away we were afraid she'd ge...

She said, the vet said, they have to wait 30 days after her cycle before they can spay her. It has only been 2 weeks. Not sure if that is helpful or not , haha. Just a random part of the equation that popped in my head. That's not totally true. Our vet said she prefers to wait till after they're ou...

We rotate among the Super5 Mixes and have never seen anything like that in the fish mix.

Peanut is doing much better on the Wellness than on her previous food.

I knew about the peroxide because I used to dogsit a pup who'd eat pretty much anything. I didn't know about feeding them - mostly cause the goofy dog had already eaten too much (8 cups of dogfood, or a big bag of dry rice and then drank water) the first few times I heard about it. I never had to do...

Oh... Peanut's pretty lean, and not particularly tall so dont go by what we feed!

How much does your pup weigh?

We gave Peanut 1.5 cups twice a day of her puppy kibble. When we went to a better kibble we had to feed her less because there were less fillers. So now she has 1 cup twice a day.

whats a good eating schedule for a 4-5 month? I gave him a lot of food the first day thinking he could manage, but he eats and drinks until it's all gone. Like how much is good to give him and when? What are you feeding him? If it's kibble, they have (general) guidelines on the bag. Whatever you do...

Thanks y'all :) We are doing our best to make sure she is healthy, happy and safe. Neither one of us have ever clipped dog nails or brushed dog teeth so it's been an adventure. She isn't scared of the nail clippers or the Dremmel (our problem is keeping her from licking the Dremmel while it's runnin...
