Re: housetraining 16 month old rescue? help?

How did it go? I also recommend the vet visit - it can't hurt and may help. Is she going in the same place all the time? Clean up after w vinegar/water solution to keep her from smelling it. Peanut sleeps in her crate every night and as soon as we let her out we take her out to do what she needs to....

Re: Need Help Desperately! Do we need a Professional Trainer

Most dogs I've seen are much happier when there are rules and they know the rules. I hope everything works out!

Re: People who make your dogs crazy

Pretty much anyone Peanut knows well except my mom. She is great around my mom. Oh and my BIL, Mr Calm and Collected. Him she runs up to wiggling madly and sits on his shoe. They don't even have to say anything! My next door neighbors can stand in their driveway and ignore her and she will go ape tr...

I don't know what else to suggest except put up a dog run farther from the communal fence?

Re: Help....Constant barking when outside.

I had to train Peanut to an 'away from the fence' command. Our yard is surrounded by people with dogs and given the chance Peanut will happily run the fence.

What kind of a fence do you have? If the dogs can't see each other they are less likely to have issues.

How to upload pictures

I use photobucket - you get an account, upload them there then link them here.

You can hide food under a cardboard box (like an upside down shoe box...)

Re: Exasperated with Behavior

He does sound like that "I have so much energy I'm going to bust wait lemmee chop on you and bounce of you and...." stage. Peanut was a little older when we found her but she had a lot of that going on too. Exercise, as everyone has said. Mental and physical. We were walking her 3-4 times ...

Re: Moth Eaten Coat

I hope she feels better soon!!!!!! Peanut had 3 staph infections when we changed her food and hasn't had one since we changed back. A friend had a German Shorthair Pointer with Addison's and when they gave her too much Pred (I guess pushing her the other way to hypo) she lost pretty much all her fur...

Re: Kennel recommendations - size too

lol I was just going to say that we use a xl for Peanut who is long for her height and currently weighs 49lb (but needs to lose 4 lb!) It is one from WalMart so it doesn't have the closure you were asking about. I have used one like that (my friends have a giant one) and maybe i am not too coordinat...

Re: Chronic diarrhea.

Peanut had soft or runny poop when we had her on Nutro adult food. We switched her to Wellness and that was better but ever since she has been on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Brown rice she has only been runny when she has 'excita-poo' from playing too hard or with her puppy friends when she hasn't seen...
