Re: Sick puppy with explosive diarrhea!

Peanut gets runny poop if she eats things high protein like rawhides or bully sticks. She also gets them when she is very excited like when she's been in the car. Not explosive - just very runny. The best food we have found for her is the Blue Buffalo Chicken and Rice. The guy at the pet store keeps...

Re: does your dog ever lose its balance for no reason?

My friends have German Shorthair Pointers and I've seen 2 of them while playing fetch get all wobbly and both were taken to the vet asap (different times) Dog one had Addison's Disease and with ongoing low dose of prednesone perked right up. Dog 2 had scary low blood sugar (27!) because of a pancrea...

Re: 41lb femal pit mix feeding amount

Peanut eats a little more than 3/4 cup 2x a day of Blue Buffalo and she's 47-48 pounds. She gets walks and zoomies but is an only dog. As soon as i dogsit my friends' 4 GSPs she'll start losing weight because she is running with them and swimming. When she gets down to 44 pounds I start upping her f...

Re: Yearly checkup, registration...am I paying too much $$$?

We get Peanut her rabies shot every three years, her Bordatella 2x year and whatever other shots she is supposed to get as the vet says to. She knows we want the least number of shots that will be effective. I need to see if she tests for heartworm every year - I think she does. Peanut is on HW pill...

Re: Ear infections, swollen by eye, hematoma...

Aww what a cute dog! Have you tried taking her to a different vet for a second opinion? Have you asked your vet why this is happening? What kind of infections are they? Does she have any allergies? (Peanut never gets infections normally but we once switched her food and she had 3-4 staph infections ...

Re: Stinky Breath

So Apollo's breath is still stinky, his gas is pretty much gone, but his anal glands are leaking. And it went from being white discharge to brown. His stools are normal. Is it normal for anal discharge to change colors? I am worried and going to make another vet appointment. Maybe his stink breath ...

Re: Feeding a lot and no weight gain.

I agree - he doesn't need more pounds. he just needs more muscle. I'd also keep watching his poop to make sure he doesn't have tapeworms. My vet said they don't actually test for them - they wait till they can be found in the poop before treating. I don't remember what she gave us - it was just one...

could be a staph infection too - Peanut got several staph infections in a row when we changed her to a food she obviously had a problem with. Vet will know.

Re: Shaking head....?

Without knowing where the OP lives it's difficult to say whether stopping the HW meds is a bad idea or not. Here in Central Texas, Peanut's on HW meds year round without a prob. No flea/tick meds tho.

If you are worried about the headshaking, I'd say a vet is a good idea.
