Thanks, I use Dr.Bronners peppermint on me :)) . That stuff is the best in the summer. A rescue friend said the same about horse shampoo. Ohlins? (sp). Doc is slowly shedding out his rust/dirt stains. The purple stuff turned it dayglo orange. lol

For a 60 lb dog I thought the dose for Benedryl was 25mg. I had to give this to Doc twice just to chill him out. I'm not a vet though. Is what the vet was prescribing Benedryl or another antihistimine?

Thanks guys, I've been trying to check. It does seem that his urine is a little diluted. I just want to be as informed as possible to know what to ask for. It's not that he's really thirsty and chills out. He'll just keep going. He emptied out a two qt. bowl almost 4 times after walking around the b...

Water consumption...

I'm wondering, how much water consumption is normal. Doc drinks an ungodly amount of water. I am of the opinion of the more the better since it's good for the body. I know that excessive drinking can be signs of other problems though. Anything I should look out for? Also, Doc is not housebroken and ...

I tried the blue stuff, Rachel helps manage a hair salon so we have every type of hair product imaginable. It worked very well on everything that was not stained. Doc has this huge ring of, now bright orange (after the blue stuff), around his neck that is from clay, rust from a chain, or both. I gue...

You may want to look into MSM. I would ask the vet if they think it will help with the pain. :goodpost: I keep forgetting about this stuff somehow, which is ridiculous because I take it  . We gave it too my ancient cat and it helped alot. It needs a digestable form of Vit. C called Ester-C to...

I can't think of a thing that you don't already do, you're pretty much covered. Between the massage, heat pad and the stretch and warm-up you already do. If yours are docile enough to lay on their backs you could do cross over stretches with the rear legs to get the flexors, which I think would be t...

Some of the vet folks here could expand on this. Be careful with the Ivermectin. Had I the medical education I could repeat my vets explination, but used too much or too long can make things worse-though it is used as a typical cure. Apparently, many vets prescribe it incorrectly. Since she is a bul...

Good to hear! I' assuming the meds were for the infection and tear duct. What happened with the cataracts, were they just mild enough to wait on?

I have a couple of kinds of shampoo (one puppy and one regular) and brush daily. They still look all grungy though. I was just remembering this Maltese my mom had when we were little. He'd get filthy and looked red from the clay stains, but when he came back from the occasional groomer trip, his coa...

Washing White Dogs

I've noticed several pics around here as of late with super bright white bullies. What does everyone use. Doc has some pretty tough red clay stains in his fur that aren't going away, on top of all around yellowish fade thing going on.
