Hip x-rays aren't painful, but they're uncomfortable, as the dog needs to lay completely still w/their hind legs spread. Most dogs won't put up w/it, and if they're not completely still, and positioned correctly, the x-rays are useless. lol, that's the way Boss lounges half the time. If he ever nee...

I don't think it's that big a deal... I mean, he didn't see the guy invited in right? (He was in the back when the plumber was let in the house?) So, from his perspective, he's playing and everything is normal and all of the sudden a stranger is in his yard, seemingly, without permission. It's a pot...

Probably today around 5pm. The vet said he's probably fine physically and just nuts. lol Seriously, she said their senses are so much more perceptive than ours, there could actually be something there (a mechanical hum, a mouse in the wall) and its just that the other two dogs are too lazy to care. ...

Could it be coyotes? Deer? Bears? Our youngest dog does this when we visit the cabin. I thought it was stress, but then I realized he really was hearing critters outside that the old dogs were too deaf too hear. For the first few nights that is what I was thinking. But he even did it in my lap, sta...

Given the choice between seizures and ghosts... I'm hoping for ghosts. Ziggy goes to the vet in 30 minutes.

UPDATE: So I'm thinking it's not barrier frustration now. He did the growling at invisible threats thing while sitting in my lap at 11pm, watching tv. I was focused on the idiot box when I feel him in my lap, tensing up. I look down and his heckles are slightly raised... then he starts to growl. He'...

My JRT and APBT play fight all the time: wrestling, playing "bitey face", etc. I always supervise though b/c my JRT gets too rough with the APBT, as weird as that sounds. Boss knows how hard he is allowed to wrestle and play but Ziggy gets overly confident b/c Boss holds back. I pull Ziggy...

Yeah, the first night I thought maybe someone or something was outside, but every night it checked out ok. He acts totally normal during the day, but at night it's like he sees scary things in the dark. :( I thought maybe a problem with his night vision? But when I let him out at night he runs aroun...

Late night growling in his crate??

This is about Ziggy, my JRT. The last few weeks he has started growling at night in his crate. Now, he has a short mumbly growl that he emits for a half a second sometimes when he is bored or frustrated... but this isn't it. This is a full on "I'm feeling threatened or aggressive" growl. E...

All of mine sleep in their crates outside my bedroom door, but I have gotten to where I now let them rotate sleeping with me. It's not every night, but sometimes 1 of them will get to come into the bedroom (where they are not allowed usually) and cuddle.

Ewwwww when he cut his own finger! That was unnecessary. Is the guy a weirdo? Yes probably, but it's a valid concern about the food nevertheless. But when he talked about inspecting every piece of kibble before feeding to his dog I thought "You still fed it to your dog?!"
