$215? $350? $450? Good lord that is a lot of money. When I was calling around for neuters in my area I found a vet that does it for $95 and it includes all pain shots. They were pretty full though and couldn't see us for a while cuz they only do surgery once or twice a week. We had to get our foster...

Everyone had their own lingo guys. Maybe Ruger is a horrid animal abuser... OR maybe some people have taken him too literally. When I get mad at Ziggy (my very strong-willed terrier mix) I will say things like "Boy I will beat your ass into the ground if you don't drop that *insert thing*"...

Thanks for your offer (sorry it took me a while to respond). Shortly after I posted I heard back from MAGSR (Mid-Atlantic GS Rescue) in Baltimore and they are going to do a home visit for me. I had contacted them before but had not gotten any takers. Of course right after I post here then I get some...

Maybe Rufus just figured out that he's in Love.... lol Seriously... men never know what they want anyway. "I love you so much... I need my space... Never leave me... You're smothering me!" Seems like in that video he didn't start the humping until she got tired of the grooming and started...

Westminster, MD Home Check Needed

Hi everyone! Is there anybody in the Westminster, MD area who would be available to do a home check for me? I have a GS Mix I have been trying to place and I may have found the perfect home for him. However, I am in NC and the potential adopter is in MD. I have already conducted a phone interview an...

individuality

It is important to remember though, that every animal, despite breed tendencies, is an individual. A lanky dog does not always mean he was neutered young. My APBT I adopted was neutered just before he came to me at age 3 years and is very lanky despite having had ENORMOUS boy parts his whole life (u...

clarification

You are right jlphilli, and I may have phrased that part of my post unclearly. We are in agreement here. :) When I say dogs have to eat more raw to get enough protein b/c of water content, I don't mean that that is a bad thing. Just that due to water content that have to consume a greater quantity o...

Fayetteville NC

Fayetteville, NC:

All About Pets (off Owen on Boone Trail Ext.): It's the only place in town I've found that has decent brands. They have Innova, Canidae, Evo, NV, Wellness, etc. They even have a decent selection of cat foods too. No Orijen though, which I want to experiment with sometime.

He is gorgeous. ya know, Jake was the name if the first bully I ever fostered. He is the dog that helped me fall in love with bully breeds. I have always loved that name for a Pit. Welcome!

Clarification

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was referring to the article that started this thread claiming that 24% protein in raw meat is the ideal while suggesting that 42% in high protein food gives a dog, hypothetically, too much protein. The article that started this thread seemed to assume that a dog wo...

Evo prices

I hear everyone complain about the price of Evo being $2/lb??? Maybe I just have a good pet store. At All About Pets in Fayetteville NC I get it for about $1.50/lb. Still pricey, but it has been worth it to have my veterinarian hold my little 15lb terrier and say "Wow, she's ripped!" hahah...

Innova Evo

I understand the math used in previous posts as an argument against feeding high protein dry food. However, Evo also makes wet foods as well. Plus, I do not feed my guys 1 lb of kibble a day. They eat far less. My Boss is a big boy but he only eats about 2 cups daily (which is a lot less than he ate...

Welcome

Where are you in Japan? My bf is stationed there and I will be flying to visit this week. I also may end up moving out there. Any problems moving a pet out there? I know there is a 6 month quarantine. Are there are restrictions on APBTs?

Ageism

Lol, I understand. I am 25 (adult, but a young adult) and I can definitely say that age doesn't automatically make you a responsible pet owner. I grew up with pets. But I didn't just enjoy them I had to take care of them too: walking, cleaning up after, giving monthly medications, taking them to the...
