Re: Tivoli

Oh no! I thought he was in the lead... booo! I'll continue to pimp him out :). I've posted a separate thread in the General section, hope that's okay.

I'm sure Angela will be posting this too with more details, but TIVI made it to the final five in the Sun River contest! One more round of voting now, until May 17 (one vote per person/computer): http://www.sunriver-resort.com/oregon-pet-contest.php?image=108#photo-gallery-wrapper Please vote and sh...

Re: Low Protein food & Good 4 Skin?

Wow, thanks so much Timas Mom and Misskiwi for all of this information. It's a bit over my head, but perhaps after I talk to the vet I can come back to it for a better understanding.

Thanks again everyone.

Re: Low Protein food & Good 4 Skin?

Thanks Tiva, I appreciate the feedback. That web site was a little confusing for me. I will ask the vet about senior formulas and Wellness, thanks for the suggestion.

Low Protein food & Good 4 Skin?

Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on what food I should give Emma? Because of slight elevations in her kidney enzyme levels and her propensity for bladder infections, she’s been on the KD (Science Diet) formula through the vet for the past couple of months. But her sensitive skin just does n...

Oh my gosh, just now read through this thread... poor Roc (and you)! I am praying for you and hoping it's an obstruction and he will get better soon.

Re: Abandoned & left to die!!

It does sound legit to me. And what a lucky dog that you were there for him!! Great work in saving this pup, it's nice to hear a happy ending to what could have been a long and tragic story.

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

Jenna thiking about Emma and hoping she is doing better. Thanks so much. I was just logging on here to give an update... It looks like good news (good in that it’s not kidney failure or some fatal disease!): Emma’s kidney enzymes were looking better (one stayed the same, the other went down one), a...

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

I'm sure your vet knows this, but lyme disease in dogs can indeed lead to kidney problems or even kidney failure. DOxycycline is typically given here (WI) for a month for lyme disease. Are those results back yet? Good luck! They haven't gotten all of the results back yet, but Lyme disease is one th...

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

Latest Emma Update: Still no firm answers  . Brought her in again to the vet today; Vet says it’s a good sign that she seems to be feeling better, but we still need to figure out why her kidneys are not concentrating her urine very well. Tests today show: Her kidney enzymes are still elevated, ...

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

I'm a bit late to your thread, but just want to wish you the very best with Emma! Having a sick animal is SO scary and worrisome. I really wish they could talk. Thank you! I really appreciate the positive thoughts. And no kidding, wouldn't it make life so much easier if they could tell us what's wr...

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

creatine was probably the 'C' word? Great-I hope she continues to improve. The fluids do wonders for their appetite don't they! Just a little heads up , sometimes their liver values get messed up while on the Doxycycline Stay well Emma girl :pray Yes, creatine was the word! Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

Another update (pardon the poor translation, a lot of this is straight from my scribbled notes I took as I talked to the doctor): Vet said it’s not kidney failure (cuz of course I asked in a panic), her enzyme levels are elevated but just mildly. Its not cause for panic, but we are taking every prec...

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

Update: I've been playing phone tag with the vet, haven't spoken to her but just got a voicemail. I had left her a message earlier letting her know we had been up north and perhaps Emma got struck by a tick, but she didn't mention anything about tick disease in her voicemail. She says Emma's kidney ...

Re: Illness? Ingested Poison?

You were in WA and didn't visit!?? Okay I'll forgive you lol LOL. Actually I posted here a couple weeks before my trip asking for suggestions on places to take Emma in the Pacific Northwest (I was in Spokane for most of the trip). I got some great suggestions on parks/lakes; there were a couple in ...
