Re: Heart Murmur - What to do?

Trip was just diagnosed with a heart murmur as well - grade 2 according to my vet and he is 8 years old. Heart murmurs can come on at any point in a animal's life and they are not always congenital like in Trip's case where he did not have one until now. Since his is so low grade we are not treating...

Re: Brain Tumor

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for Roc! have you guys tried steroids at all? that was one thing the neurologist suggested for harv, but we never tried it because he was so hungry and thirsty already that he was in a constant state of agitation, and i didn't want to add steroids and their hungry...

Brain Tumor

I posted awhile back on how Roc had been having issues with ataxia (which is being out of balance, unsteady gait) and the vets had diagnosed him as most likely having a slipped disc as that is the more common cause, but other possibilities being issues in the brain like a tumor or mass of some sort....

Re: Slipped Disc

He seems to be feeling ok - just really wobbly in the back end a lot of the time. He also does not understand why I insist on picking him up to carry him up and downstairs when he is a old dog and can do it himself lol. I just worry that he will do something and become paralyzed in the back end and ...

Re: Slipped Disc

Thanks! I have joined a list which mostly has owners of doxies with disc disease, but they are a wealth of info. And I am keeping Roc on a strict rest! I am also going to take Roc's past bloodwork into my vet to see if we can start him on some anti-inflammatories.

Slipped Disc

Roc has been lame in his back left leg for a few weeks now and also just a tad too wobbly for my liking in his back end all together. I took him to work with me today to have one of the vets check him out and see what she thought. She did a thorough physical and neurological exam on him as well as g...

Re: So...I'm freaking out....again

I am dealing with a similar issue with Roc right now and am concerned that it may be a torn ACL as well. He has been favoring his left hind leg for a few weeks now. At first it was on and off, but now it is pretty much all of the time. He will let me do whatever I want to the leg and does not act pa...
