Re: Why is it always Spud?!

Poor guy! I HATE pancreatitis!!! :po: Roc has had it twice in the last 2 years with no known cause and each time it cost me a couple thousand dollars as he had to be hospitalized.

I hope you are able to treat Spud at home and he gets better quickly!

Re: Lethal White

Libby - just so you know for the future both of the rescues I listed are in Mesa, AZ which is only 5 hours from you, so if that breeder does come back with more lethal white puppies in the future to euthanize or you come across more lethal whites in the future - you should definitely contact them. I...

Re: Lethal White

I am really sad that these 2 puppies were euthanized as there are rescues out there that will take them in and lethal whites actually do have potential to live long, full lives. Not all cases are hopeless. :crybaby: There are 2 rescues that I know of in the US that work with lethal whites exclusivel...

Re: Help Needed getting puppies from CA to MN

You can try Leash Animal Rescue - Kelly might be able to pull them from the shelter for you. I am not sure how you will get them to MN though. I live in LA, but I have no where to keep the pups otherwise I would help! ~LEASH Animal Rescue~ leashanimalrescue@yahoo.com http://www.leashanimalrescue.org...

Re: Rain had surgery

Rain gets her sutures out tomorrow! I am sure she will be happy to be rid of the evil cone of torture. I have to drop her off in the morning and I am not allowed to feed her as they may have to sedate her. I hate not being able to feed her as she looks at me while I feed the other dogs like I am the...

Rain had surgery

My vet (who is also a friend) did not want me to wait any longer to get Rain in for surgery, so we went ahead and had it done. Since I had raised a little over $1000 and I told them that I was continuing to fundraise (with the PBF auction & other stuff) - she offered to personally loan me the mo...

Re: Cancer sucks

Yes I already have CareCredit and am maxed out at $5000 because of all of Roc's past medical bills and the $800 I spent last week on Rain's diagnosis. I am not sure I can be approved for a credit limit increase and just thinking about asking for one makes my head spin. This whole thing is making me ...

Re: Cancer sucks

Update - Dropped Rain off yesterday at my regular vet to test to see if the cancer has spread to her internal organs. The vet did an ultrasound of her organs and took needle aspirates of the spleen and liver to send out cytologys to the lab. Rain got a nice shot of some heavy duty pain drugs too, so...

Re: Cancer sucks

I am going to talk to my vet tomorrow to see what the cost is for the tests to see if the cancer has spread to her internal organs and when it can be scheduled. I have no money to pay for it, so I will have to see if I can carry a balance at the clinic for now otherwise I will have to postpone it fo...

Re: Cancer sucks

So overall I think the visit with the oncologist went well. Rain, of course, was a very well behaved, happy pit bull - someone forgot to tell her she has cancer! The oncologist thinks the first step would be to get an ultrasound on Rain's abdomen and also take some samples from her internal organs (...
