Re: Examples of BARF/RAW menus

Are you feeding a really high quality food?? If so you can switch to raw chubs from a local pet store for relatively the same cost OR you can watch local grocery stores and when prices for meat drop to below $1.40lb snag up what you can (way cheaper than chubs). Liver and other organs are pretty che...

Re: Opinions on Iams Prescription Food

Entirely unrelated, but I'm curious about the Kangaroo meat. Do they have Kangaroo farms somewhere or something? I never knew there was dog food with kangaroo in it. Sounds exotic :) There is a guy from another forum that lives in Australia and he feeds it to his dogs says it gives them horrendous ...

Re: Examples of BARF/RAW menus

This is a haul we just got from a friend, I just package it up and mix it up.... I usually keep to an 80 10 10 ratio 80% muscle meat, which includes heart tongue and gizzard 10% organ 10% bone Oh and the occasional goat head! LOL The fat slabs were a treat, they were helping me package everything up...

Re: Opinions on Iams Prescription Food

I would wait.... it can take 2 mo for a dog to regulate on a food and if you are switching every week or so you won't know what is causing the allergy. If you are going to be completely raw in a week (why are you waiting a week?) just hold out and see how well he does after he has been raw for at le...

Re: diet for my 85lb rescue dog

I now feed raw but fed TOTW before switching. It is a good food if you are wanting to feed kibble. here are some links for raw feeding: http://www.rawfed.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.rawlearning.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://rawfeddogs.ne...

Re: peeing by the slider

Food would be a great idea, she will do anything for food. I will try that, getting excited definitely sends her over the "edge" so to speak and we are trying to teach her to be calm..... lol yeah right. Oh an I thought she was 8mo old she is 7mo old as of the 23rd of sept.

Re: peeing by the slider

It sounds like the bell will be helpful. It seems like she sees outside and right by the slider as acceptable places to potty. And to me that would be repotty training. Lucky for you she's half way there because she will go outside. You just have to clarify to her that outside is the only place it'...

Re: peeing by the slider

Part of the problem is the access to the dog backyard. Our yard is sectioned off so that we have a people yard... no pee and poop on that lawn and a dog yard. That yards access is either through the garage.... OR through our room. She used to come in and jump up on me and spaz out and take off. Unfo...

Re: Heat stroke...

I don't want to be a jerk here, but Misskiwi lost her dog in a tragic accident which she feels AWFUL about, and people are arguing about how bad it is to keep a dog shut in a car. I think it's a little tacky, to say the least, and I think it's a little...mean. We all know that it's not good to leav...

Re: peeing by the slider

This is what I was thinking about also last night. Watching her at the OTHER slider in the kitchen she just sits there and looks at me then at the door, no scratching no vocal indication she wants out. I have been trying to get her to bark at me when I see her by the door because she is VERY vocal b...

peeing by the slider

Alright at 8mo old a dog should be able to "ask" to go outside. It is starting to get cold at night and I am tired of having to leave the slider open so Cricket does not pee or poop by the door. She KNOWS she is supposed to go outside to go because she will freak out whenever she goes by t...
