Re: Jumping and biting while running

Good advice, it sounds like excitement and rough play. x2 My dog Saint used to do something similar when he was a younger. Not necessarily the biting, but the jumping up on me while I was trying to run with him. I would stop and play with him for a bit (let him zoomie around and such) until he got ...

Re: Rolled Leather Collars

My parents use rolled leather collars on their huskies. They are strong, not doubt about it. We like the look of them on fluffy dogs, since they don't squish down their fur like a flat collar would.

I prefer flat collars on short haired dogs, but that's just personal preference. :)

Re: should this worry me? *sorry, long*

Your mother needs to stop being so careless. It's a shame that Jazz has to put up with being treated like that, especially by someone who obviously doesn't give a damn that she hurt the animal. Jazz's reaction was completely normal, restrained even. Would your family even be willing do what it take ...

Re: Thunder Shirt ?

I tried one about a year and a half ago. It's a very high quality product and many people have had success with it. However, it did not help my dog Saint with his separation anxiety. :( Ugh! Separation anxiety sucks! :crybaby: I'm hoping it'll help even just a little. What are you doing to help Sai...

Re: Thought of this question and was curious....

Saint eats twice a day: in the mornings generally around when we're getting ready for work and sometime in the afternoon/evening after his walk. Not set times per say, but they generally end up being around the same hour or so. I like not keeping a rigid time becasue on the weekends he'll let us sle...

<----- Saint would love to model and is quite the ham. He also hasn't gotten a new coat in two years; can't you tell he's so neglected.

Re: The "dog" Sofa

With Paco and Huckleberry they were allowed on the furniture but only if they were on a blanket. This way they didn't try and get up all the time unless we laid something out. You could try that with Saint so it's more that he's on "his" blanket versus the sofa, if that makes sense. You c...

Re: The "dog" Sofa

Thanks guys!

I'd like to try this becasue I know he would enjoy being able to snooze on that couch, but I don't want to create more problems either. Hmm.

Decisions, decisions.

The "dog" Sofa

Saint is not allowed on the furniture for various reasons and has dog beds and blankets sprinkled around the house that he gladly utilizes. In my new house, he has his own room (equipped with a baby gate instead of a door) which contains his crate, bowls, all his other "belongings" and an ...

I have this one, but in white: http://www.amazon.com/Dreambaby-Extra-Swing-Close-Extensions/dp/B000EICY8E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1292360852&sr=8-3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You do have the option of screwing it into the door frame if you want. It's very sturdy. Saint has...

Re: Manners Minder

Thanks everybody! I hope some more people chime in . . . I love hearing what everyone has used them for. My agility trainer brought hers in to work w/Soleil on the contacts. First time she used the larger one. Despite the bulkiness, and the rubber matt floor, Soleil was able to drive it all over the...

Who here has used this product? http://www.amazon.com/Premier-Manners-Minder-Behavior-Training/dp/B0010B8CHG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I remember a couple of you have mentioned successfully utilizing it with some training techniques. I'm considering buying one to help me teach S...

Re: The poor wood floors....

Go to your local hardware store and ask them for a product that you coat the wood in, and it makes a really hard shiny finish. For the life of me, I can't recall what it's called, but it works great. I have wood floors throughout my house, and before I moved in I had them sanded and then put this l...

Re: Recycling for Rescues

That's an awesome idea!

Is there a way I can sign up the Sula Foundation to be on the list of randomly selected rescues?

We need leashes and collars for an upcoming vaccination clinic . . .
