Liquid band-aid?

On the side of one of Saint's toes he has a little scrape. He got it a few months ago. It seems like he got it because his toenail is a little crooked and it must have scraped the side of his toe after I clipped it one day. Since I noticed the scrape, I've been super anal about smoothing off his nai...

Re: Dogs with colitis-food recommendations?

Poor thing. I just found this thread and now it seems like its more than just colitis. Well just share my experience with Saint's colitis anyway. The vet had me not feed him for a day, then feed him rice and chicken broth for three days, then rice and boiled chicken for two days. Then slowly introdu...

Me too. It did make me laugh though.

I grew up with Huskies so their fluff covered everything, which was nice.

Onion? Really? I don't think I like that one.

Re: Nail Clipping

I clip Saint's nail once a week. (He doesn't give me any problems since I discovered that if I clip his nails outside, either sitting by the bayou or on the walking bridge, he is perfectly content with me messing with his toes.) I haven't noticed any quick recession. I have a pedipaws, but I h...

I would simply state that you do not support back yard breeders and will not assist them in this matter. Give them the contact info for the GSP people and leave it at that. If they actually contact the GSP people, perhaps they will be able to talk some sense into them. That's really all you can do. ...

I knew she'd steal some hearts. :)) She has recovered quite nicely. She's still a little prickly feeling, which is probably just due to the fact that her fur coming in is sparse and rough. I can't wait to see her in a few months with some more fur! Ilovethepits- I'm glad you like the Sula Foundation...

Weekdays: Saint and I are out for an hour in the morning. We 10 walk minutes to the bayou, jog for 40 minutes, then 10 minutes back to the house. In the afternoons we do a 30-40 minutes walk. (It's been really hot this month, so we've only been going out for 30 minutes in the afternoon.) Weekends: I...

Thanks Mike. I wasn't aware that salmon oil was an anti-inflammatory or that is lubed their joints. This whole time I was just thinking it was for skin and coat. Would the regular fish oil tabs for human do the same thing? I have some for myself, that I am supposed to be taking, but I'm not. ...

Are supplements for joint health needed?

Saint and I go running for 3 miles every weekday morning. It's a nice run, not too long for either of us. About half of the run is on grass and the other half is on concrete. Recently I've noticed that my knees have been aching a bit and just today my hip did something strange, causing some pain. I'...

New volunteer training?

Hey everybody. I am a volunteer for the Sula Foundation in New Orleans. http://www.sulafoundation.org I'm working on getting new guidelines in place for our new volunteers. For all of you involved in rescue, how do you train your new volunteers? What types of information packets do you give them? Ri...

Any body ever try California Naturals Herring and Sweet Potato? Saint is currently on DVP Sweet Potato and Fish. He has been doing well on it for almost a year, but I have noticed that he gets a little flaky skin and small eye buggers. He also poops 4 times a day. I thinking about trying the Califor...
