Re: does your dog ever lose its balance for no reason?

That would worry me ... hope she gets better soon. I would check with your vet or bring her in; I suppose it could be something minor like an inner ear issue, or something more serious like a neurological issue.

Re: I found a stray Pitbull Sunday morning. Please read.

Welcome and Thank You for helping this (now very lucky) dog! Have you thought about creating a Facebook page for Rocko, which also may help with the fundraising? Also, as a suggestion - would your veterinarian take a postdated check for the small remaining balance for the surgery (this in case you c...

Re: Warning: Dog Food/Treats

Thank you for posting this - it's a valuable reminder to stay away from chicken jerky products imported from China, Vietnam, and thereabouts.

Re: New home for the New Year!

The shelter environment is a unique one, and tends to stress the dogs. I think your idea to walk the two future 'roomies' is a good one (I'd run it past the shelter's adoption coordinator, assuming they have one). However, please note that dogs that come out of a shelter environment can take a while...

Re: New home for the New Year!

Is it possible to only keep the pit crated when I'm not around? My current pup has the run of the house (er, other than when laundry is out because he tends to hoard socks) and doesn't need one. I'm sorry to ask so many q's in an introduction thread. I really do hope they are friends for life, but ...

Re: New home for the New Year!

They may be best friends for life - and they may not. Time will tell, and if you're keeping both separately crated, when you are not right there to supervise, you will be fine. Time is both your ally with many issues, and also the mirror of truth - we had peaceful coexistence with two opposite gende...

Re: New home for the New Year!

Then we truly are neighbors, we're in Lakewood! If you ever need help with the multi-dog home type stuff :) , let me know, and I hope that Zipporah's sister gets adopted as well. I know that you feel bad about splitting up the sisters, but it may be in their best interest - siblings and same genders...

Re: New home for the New Year!

Welcome, neighbor!

Thank you for adopting from Downey - both shelters there (County and SEAACA) are high kill - happy to hear that the little Pittie girl is getting out of there - thanks to you.

A Happy New Year to you and your dogs!
