Cruciate Ligament and Hiking

Does anyone do extensive hiking/ backpacking with a dog that has had a cruciate ligament repair? My male, Bronx, had surgery February 2nd and has been on IR since then while slowly healing. It has now been 4 months and he is able to do moderate activity without showing signs of soreness. I know he i...

Dog Backpack's on Sale at REi

Havent been on here as much but I figured there are plenty here who may want to take advantage of this. I found out about it on an Appalachain Trail Forum I surf. Bronx has this model and I want to say he wears a medium and is 75lbs. You can always go by your local REI store and they will normally l...

Re: torn acl

Bronx just had the traditional surgery (suture) on Friday. I was quoted at $2,600-$2,900 including post operation medicine, follow up appointments and X-Rays. The total came out to be just under $2,200. There is a thread above this called "Torn CCL Surgery- what to expect" with a lot of go...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

Bronx has been having left rear leg issues for quite sometime now and I was always told by my regular vet that he might have a small tear but that he was sure the CCL was not torn and did not recommend surgery. I was able to keep him somewhat tamed (limited jumping) and things were going great until...

Re: Doggy Backpacking 101

Anyone ever done any backpacking in Arizona? Do you have a recommendations for areas/hikes to do? I will be in Tempe in late February and was thinking about making a weekend backpacking trip out of it. Thanks in advance for any information you might have.

Re: Meet Pinkie! (NoVA, MD, DC area)

Sweet72947....I am in Nova and was looking around there. Is Princess the 2 yr old female that was on Pet Finder still around? I saw her a few weeks ago and it said she was being euthanized soon. Thanks

Re: Please give advice ASAP, cut wound

I cleaned it throughly (peroxide and anit bacterial ointment) every morning. I then taped it with a gauze pad and medical tape (bt n...
