Cruciate Ligament and Hiking

Does anyone do extensive hiking/ backpacking with a dog that has had a cruciate ligament repair? My male, Bronx, had surgery February 2nd and has been on IR since then while slowly healing. It has now been 4 months and he is able to do moderate activity without showing signs of soreness. I know he i...

Awesome. I am in the process of buying a house now and hope in the next year I can start to foster. I will keep this information handy.

Good luck. Bronx had his 2 week follow and got his staples removed yesterday. The Dr. said he was healing well.

Re: torn acl

Bronx just had the traditional surgery (suture) on Friday. I was quoted at $2,600-$2,900 including post operation medicine, follow up appointments and X-Rays. The total came out to be just under $2,200. There is a thread above this called "Torn CCL Surgery- what to expect" with a lot of go...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

Bronx has been having left rear leg issues for quite sometime now and I was always told by my regular vet that he might have a small tear but that he was sure the CCL was not torn and did not recommend surgery. I was able to keep him somewhat tamed (limited jumping) and things were going great until...

Re: Meet Pinkie! (NoVA, MD, DC area)

Sweet72947....I am in Nova and was looking around there. Is Princess the 2 yr old female that was on Pet Finder still around? I saw her a few weeks ago and it said she was being euthanized soon. Thanks

Re: Please give advice ASAP, cut wound

I cleaned it throughly (peroxide and anit bacterial ointment) every morning. I then taped it with a gauze pad and medical tape (bt n...

Re: New dog came down with Parvo

Sorry to hear about Crash. I would imagine for $800 dollars somehthing like Parvo should have been discovered. Someone else on here will be able to give you a better answer.

Re: Lost of Appetite

My dog Bronx has always been a seriously picky eater unless my old roomates dog was ready to eat also. Sometimes he will eat a whole bowl (2 cups) and sometimes he wont eat a thing until late at night. Like Kings/Girl said some dogs just eat when they want/need.
