All kinds of money? Like what? All they would need to do is take an ear swab and prescribe meds. I've never seen ear drops that cost more that $15. Your old antibiotics probably won't help for a number of reasons (different abx target different parts of the body, could be a yeast infection not bact...

My girlfriend just had an ear infection and I put olive oil in the microwave for 30 seconds and put 3 drops in. It works pretty well. I'm sure it is ok to use on dogs but I would google it. Yes, DEFINITELY Google it. 30 seconds in a high-powered microwave would make the oil HOT, I would be so afrai...

I think my vet is full of BS...

My vet claims my dog has an ear infection. She doesn't itch, scratch, or shake her ears. She does have some wax build up in there. Anyway, he wants to charge me all sorts of money. Is there any type of home remedy for this? FYI, I already have some anti-biotics from when she used to have allergies.....

I say invest $8-10 and take the dog to a professional. Nikita won't let me touch her nails, but does OK when 3 people at the vet's office hold her down. Dogs feet are very private areas to them. It is not uncommon for a dog not to want his/her feet touched. But as I said, it is worth the xtra money ...

Blood Blisters?

Nikita has been getting these blood blisters type things around her nose and on her chin. There is never more than 2 or 3 at a time. They look like little pimple type things, but when you pop them, blood comes out. (Sorry to be yucky and graphic). Anyway, they go away in about 5 days. She just got a...

Beautiful dog you got there. Make sure when you take her out in public you tell everyone (if they ask) what kind of dog she is. Every single person can make a difference out there. If theres kids around, let them pet her!! Parents will be amazed!

After she gets spayed, I'm hearing I basically have to spend 2 days with her, or keep her in a cage. Also, I've heard the dissolving stitches are not as good as the real ones...anybody???

Spaying concerns....

I know spaying is VERY important. My doggie is about to be 2 (on July 4th...everyone sing) and she's not spayed yet. I heard a horror story from a friend who's pup died on the operating table during a normal spaying. Then, I have my vet telling me that she will have a higher risk of cancer if I don'...

I have a guy who frequents my bar who is looking to get rid of his Bullie Cocoa. She's about 2, black and white, with uncropped ears. I'm in Dallas also! You can check out my baby on dogster, or look for my others posts. She's the sweetest thing in my life!

I kinda want another dog too, but she's such an attention whore, I don't know if I will do it!

Good luck and welcome to the forum, I'm sure you both will love it!
