Introducing Mira!

We are on a "Foster to Adopt" at this point, but I can see NO reason this girl won't stay. I can not understand how this great dog has been sitting in a kennel with no home. She is PERFECT so far. I feel so lucky to find a rescue dog who fits in so well in our household. Kudos to MABBR to ...

Seamus, my male, was a natural, started swimming as soon as he saw the pool. Of course it helped that he fetches whatever you throw for him wherever you throw it, so he was serously just playing swim fetch! Susy HATED the water. We got her a life jacket, and gave her time and lots of praise and she ...

That sounds good. The vet just wanted me to drop him off and pick him up later and I just wasnt sure . So I will ask more questions of the vet and make sure I am understanding exactly what type of exam they will be doing.

Limping so X rays on Monday

Seamus my male has been limping lately after exercising (I'm pretty sure it's a joint issue) I have him scheduled Monday for xrays. Should I have both hips and elbows done? Anything else?

I have had expired dry food that I have received from my rescue grop for the foster dogs. It smelled fine and wasn't that past the expiration date and seemed to have no ill effects on the dogs when they ate it.

Well, the tomatoe juice remedy DID NOT WORK. What a mess and it did end up smelling like puked up tomatoe mixed with skunk! So in the wee hours of the morning re-did with the baking soda, peroxide and soap potion, it worked like a charm, and MUCH cheaper, easier to use and less messy. So, now I know...

Well, things have worked out, for the better I think. One of my fosters, the new one, has gone to another breed experienced stay at home foster parent where he will be getting all the one on one he needs. Me, I will keep the other foster until he gets adopted. Then take a little break fro...

I dont think that when dealing with the "martyr" type of person in a rescue group much gets solved at all. So now the solution per the coordinator is for her to take my current foster dogs. Even though I know she is already overloaded, and per her statement she is at her wits end also. Eve...

We are a small rescue and the only one in our area. They tend to "check in" on me when I first get a new foster, then I'm pretty much on my own. Most of our fosters only want to take in pups, or just the easy dogs. I am one of the few who will take on the older more "problem" dog...

I have been fostering for this group about 10 months now. One of the reasons I joined a group was because, in my thinking, with a group I would get support to get through the tough times. My email response I'm thinking to send, but I have not yet hit the send message button: That wasn’t what I was s...

Thanks! I needed a little sympathy, I had written an email earlier to our rescue group about my concerns and how I was feeling and got this response back: (quote)So does this mean I need to bring the two of them into the shelter and have the two of them put down, cuz that is what *** will do since w...
