Ridgely, Maryland

Ugh, not more talk of BSL in MD. :( Now it's in Ridgely. RIDGELY Ridgely officials are considering a bill requiring certain breeds of dogs deemed inherently dangerous be registered with the town’s police department. Ridgely Police Chief Gary Foster discussed his reasons for the measure during the to...

Re: Crispen needs a home! (BARCS- Baltimore, MD)

BARCS is pretty easy to adopt through. You just can't have any animal control violations, have approval from a landlord if you rent, and yeah... I think that's about it. They also require you to do a meet and greet with your other dogs and the potential dog. And, of course, you have to sign their ad...

Re: Crispen needs a home! (BARCS- Baltimore, MD)

So, I called the shelter and they said that they probably wouldn't do a foster out of state. They said since all of the vet care is done through BARCS, along with meet and greets, etc... that it'd be too much driving on the foster parent. If that's something that wouldn't concern you, and you really...

Hmm, I know they adopt that far, but I'm not 100% sure on fostering. Let me find out for you. I'll let you know. :)

Re: Crispen needs a home! (BARCS- Baltimore, MD)

Well, his time is limited in the sense that he is in a kill shelter. But, there's no way in knowing when exactly his time will be up. The shelter is filled to the brim, and he's already been there over 2 months. :( He definitely needs to find a home or foster ASAP! Think maybe you could talk the oth...

Crispen needs a home! (BARCS- Baltimore, MD)

This goofy, lovable boy has been in the shelter since 5/14 and really needs a home! He is a very goofy and playful boy, very dog friendly (he loves playing in playgroup with all the other dogs!), and he absolutely adores people! He is also an active pup (but not exactly what I'd call 'hyper' or 'ver...

Re: Strange fearful/submissive behavior?

Alright, so I talked to Mary a little bit, and she began working with Cin. She said the first time she tried to give her a treat, there was no weirdness, but the second time it was definitely there! So she spent all day taking extra time and doing basically what I described above. There was marked ...

Re: Strange fearful/submissive behavior?

1. Get away from Brian. He does NOT know what he claims about behavior, just what he sees on a certain television show, and he's going to get someone seriously hurt soon. 2. That's Mary's favorite dog. Let her know about the issue (she's the one who wears a bandanna all the time) You can tell her I...

Strange fearful/submissive behavior?

I was at the shelter today walking some dogs, and with the first dog that I walked today was something that I've never seen before. Her name is Cinnamon, and she is 5 years old. When I went to get her out of her kennel for a walk, she was fine. She was happy at the front of the kennel, and she let m...
