Re: Simone vomits regularly

I am actually a vegetarian, but I do not consider dogs to be a good candidate for the diet. They need it and if left up to their own device would find it.

Re: Broken Nail

Like I said this isn't our usual vet. We only have two in our entire county and I needed to get her in ASAP. This was also my first encounter with a broken nail.

Next time, I know what to expect and will send my husband along, its so hard on me emotionally, she is my baby lol

Re: Groomers

I am a groomer, and it is MUCH easier on the dogs if the owners aren't there watching. Most dogs tend to stress out more when their owners are around, they can't figure out why you're just standing there staring at them while the "water torture" is going on. lol Not to mention a wiggly do...

Groomers

If you have your dog(s) groomed what type of facility do you prefer? I took Sadie to one awhile back here in town and I thought the experience went well. Although, it was the kind you cant stay and watch, you have to leave....I didn't know until her appointment. Anyway, Sadie has a huge water fear t...

Re: Hook Worms

[quote="Misskiwi67"]Hookworms are nasty... they will crawl right through your dogs feet (and yours too!) if you don't pick up the feces with 12 hours.

OMG!!! Really??? Nasty! quote]

Re: Broken Nail

My vet doesn't sedate for this at all but I know how to hold a dog such that the vet won't get bitten. He says "ready" I say "ready"...chop, squeal & squirm, tape it up...done. Doesn't your vet own a muzzle, though? Tape? Really? It couldn't have been "ready...chop, squ...

Re: Hook Worms

talking hook worms, not heartworms. hooks are easily removed with the right meds, im just tired of buying it from the vet. although the stuff i get from the vet is for cats and dogs, so i may stick with it. Interceptor eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and the adult stage of hookworm,...

Re: Simone vomits regularly

Lawn treatments could very well be poisonous! Maybe she likes the "taste" of the lawn treatment? :dunno:

Re: Hook Worms

I am not sure about treatments after the fact, but have you tried a preventive? I know it can get expensive with so many animals though. We use interceptor, I am not sure if that's the best but it was what our vet started us on along time ago.

Re: Broken Nail

Okay, so I took her in and I am shocked! The vet just ripped the nail off without any pain meds and she freaked and almost fell off the table!!!! He then kept telling the vet tech something about super glue(?) ... Sadie would scream and I would talk to her, trying to keep her on the table (which is ...

Thanks, I will have them look at it when we take her in. I don't live in an area that allows me to really "choose" a vet, we also don't have any emergency vets either which sucks. The one I use is great with the animals, but is the type to charge $10.00 for saline solution. lol

Broken Nail

Sadie broke her toe nail off about 3 months ago and it healed up great with some triple antibiotic. I knew that worked cause same thing happen to our cat awhile back. Anyway, it has grew back some and broke again! I am wondering if it grew back in a way that caused it to be extra fragile? It bled a ...
