Found Pit Mix in South Florida

A friend of mine found a pit mix roaming through a really good part of town. She has two dogs at home, so the mutt is staying at her barn. I am helping her look for a new home, or maybe by word of mouth, the original owners. She looks young but who knows?? http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs019.snc3/12...

Re: Christmas present ideas??

Thanks for the info. Thank Goodness, both dogs have slowed down their eating. They'll even walk away and go back to it (which they never used to do). I just feel bad because Chaos has to put one leg angled outward to reach her bowl, and since she was having that limping problem, im just trying to be...

Re: Christmas present ideas??

I ended up at PetSupermarket mainly looking for a bowl set (raised), an e-z walk harness, and a few treats. First they didnt have the harness, only the one that goes around their nose..so I get the bowl set i'm looking for and start down the toy isle. So my daughter is grabbing toys left and right, ...

Re: Christmas present ideas??

Well I at least got an idea for a new harness and leash from someone elses post about the Easy Walk Harness. I had purchased a anti-pull harness from Target a little bit ago and it worked for a sohrt time, but she seems to LOVE the feeling of pulling against it. LOL she looks like shes in a weight p...

Christmas present ideas??

Hello everyone, I have been looking for cute stocking stuffers (yes both dogs have a stocking) for my dogs. I'm going to get the usual busy bone, and Chaos is due for a raised bowl set, but I cant find toys that hold up to her. Felony is veyr laid back, so his is strictly going to be food options an...

Re: Chaos Lunging on walks

Originally turning away was what i tried. But that was not helping in the least bit for us. I also want to note that on both the first walk with my friend and both dogs, and my walk this past weekend, there were no dogs present. I know when i started to jog is what initiated her jumping on me. There...

Re: Chaos Lunging on walks

So no suggestion on how to correct the behavior? I took her on a walk this morning and shes fine until i start jogging. I had my water bottle to shake at her when she jumped, which workedd twice. Once she knew what it was it stopped helping. Shes great on her walks other than that. I'd really like t...

Re: Chaos Lunging on walks

Thanks for the response Stormi. When shes lunging her body is pretty loose. I want to make sure oyu understand that shes not nipping at all. Shes not using her mouth, just jumping. Chaos is 10 months old, and ive only done one on one traning with her, maybe an hour a week. Everytime we're on the lea...

Re: Chaos Lunging on walks

She gets 5 walks a day, around the block. and 3 x's a week we do the mile walk, plus we play tug almost every day and fetch. And yes, when the dog is barking it is hard for them to focus. But her problem wasnt when the dog was barking, it was the after-math. While the dog was barking, she was timid....

Chaos Lunging on walks

So I've started a slow workout regiment for Chaos and I to walk about a mile 3 x/week. We were originally only walking around the block, which she does fine with. I've started taking her around the block, up to the next major road, and back down (possibly stopping at the park to just play) - when th...

Re: Training the husband to train the dogs

Yes but hes so "proud" of himself for raising such a good dog, he doesnt see it as disrepspect. He sees it as know-how. Felony is his dog, and we have come to seperate our methods bc he tells me "dont tell me how to train my dog, you have Chaos for that" And thats how it is, Felo...

Training the husband to train the dogs

I need help training my fiance so i can train my dogs. I have been having serious control issues when it comes to my view points on training and situations in general, and my fiance doing as he pleases, pretty much underminding me. We have 2 pits (5 y.o. intact male, 10 m.o. spayed female). Our boy,...

Re: leaving the house!

roflmao I dont think you specified the age of your dog now, but thats funny! You started leaving them out at 8 weeks? Chaos is now 8 months old, and ive only left her out twice, both times i was gone less than 20 minutes. She has a HUGE crate that she stays in for a majority of the day. from 8 am ti...
