Re: Anyone tried the Kong Blue?

My dog has destroyed the red one but not the black one. I got a blue one, the one that they only sell to the trade and she destroyed that one in seconds when I wasn't looking. I think the black one has survived with luck only. I need to start just using the kongs for treats and then promptly taking ...

Re: rubber leashs

I have the coupler and one of the shorter leashes(the strongest one) for my 2 dogs. I love them. It allows for me to have control over having them close by or further away if I want with so many handles that don't hang down like my traffic lead leashes do. They walk pretty good on them and even thou...

Re: Nylabone concerns ever?

I could be wrong but I thought that the tiny pieces were okay for them to digest, it was just if they could bite bigger pieces off was the concern.

Re: 90% there its a miracle

Go Ruby! I feel your pain ME. Lucy is neurotic about pooping too, if the conditions aren't right she won't go and save it for the house where she is comfortable and she is about the same age as Ruby. Let's hope thing keep going well for Ruby and she won't go on the porch at all in no time! :headbang:

yep. I have had a hell of a time getting rid of fleas and this is the only preventative that has worked. You need to get it from a vet.

Re: Signs of a food allergy?

Yah, unfortunately my vet only wants me to use interseptor or sentinal and I am not a big fan of sentinal. I am going to get some natural balance allergy food (one that doesn't have most of the common dog allergy things in it) and start switching him over. He is going to the vet on Monday and I will...

Re: Signs of a food allergy?

He is on comfortis for fleas and heartguard then switching to interceptor for heartworm. He has actually been throwing up the comfortis every time I give it to him so something needs to change there. I may try a food specifically for allergies like natural balance to start out with and feed him that...

Re: Signs of a food allergy?

It looks like a big pimple I guess. I am the hair does come off when the scabs come off. He smells bad. He may just smell bad because he is a puppy and still pees on himself lol. It doesn't smell worse when he scratches I don't think but there really isn't a time when he doesn't scratch. His skin is...

Re: Signs of a food allergy?

Yah I know how to check for fleas, no flea dirt, no signs of fleas at all. I am not saying there is no chance one hatched and bit him because that is impossible. I just haven't seen any whatsoever or any signs of them. I mentioned the fleas in the first place because my original idea was that he was...

Re: Signs of a food allergy?

I'll try that. He will be going to the vet for a regular check up in the next 2 weeks but I wanted to get started trying out a different food. I haven't noticed it get worse when he is outside but I have been getting a lot of mosquito bites outside so that is a possibility as well. I am talking 10 b...

Re: Signs of a food allergy?

unfortunately you have to treat the house as well for fleas, not just the animals.. once fleas get in your house the whole house needs to be treated, if not the fleas will just keep reproducing... some dogs are highly allergic to flea bites, so he could still be getting flea bites from whatever res...

Signs of a food allergy?

My dog Gauge is just a pup, about 7 months old. He has lived in our house for about 2 months now. When he first came here he got fleas right away because he wasn't on flea treatment before hand. We treated both the dogs and the fleas are now gone (and have been for over a month) and Gauge is still i...

Re: Best chew toys??

Have you tried the black or blue kongs? Mine can tear apart the red ones but not the blue ones, and the black ones last a bit longer but still not tough enough.

Re: Toy Stealing.

PS Dogs can certainly use this concept in other settings-- I don't want my dog chewing nasty raw bones all around my house and floor. He has to be on his towel. If he leaves the towel, then the bone gets put away because he is indicating he's done with it. If he tries to leave his towel and bring t...

Re: Toy Stealing.

Oh, they are NEVER unsupervised. When we are not there to watch them Gauge is in his crate. I have been really careful about that. Trying to avoid something before it has a chance to happen. But I just wonder when the right time is to step in and what point I should intervene. I know that only I kno...
