Re: Signs of a food allergy?

unfortunately you have to treat the house as well for fleas, not just the animals.. once fleas get in your house the whole house needs to be treated, if not the fleas will just keep reproducing... some dogs are highly allergic to flea bites, so he could still be getting flea bites from whatever res...

Signs of a food allergy?

My dog Gauge is just a pup, about 7 months old. He has lived in our house for about 2 months now. When he first came here he got fleas right away because he wasn't on flea treatment before hand. We treated both the dogs and the fleas are now gone (and have been for over a month) and Gauge is still i...

Re: does your dog have a tattoo? is it common?

Lucy got a small line of a tattoo on her belly when she was spayed. I never ever see it or even thing to look for it and I am always inspecting every inch of my dog.

Re: So much pee!

I didn't think it was a huge deal, I just wasn't sure how normal it is or if there was anything I could do to help it. I think I am going to have to keep her outside for an hour after she swims because of all the water intake. She loves being outside so it shouldn't be a big deal but at night if she...

So much pee!

My dog is about 15 months old. She drinks a lot of water because she plays hard and drinks a lot while doing it. She has pretty much always been this way and I have just chalked it up to her being a puppy and needing to pee often. When she pees a LOT comes out so I don't think it has to do with the ...

Re: Looking for a little guidance

When mine went into heat, she was in heat for 2 months. That's rare but it does happen. The vet told me it varies considerably from dog to dog. They can bleed anywhere from 2 weeks and longer. They can spay her when she is in heat but most vets don't like to do it as there are more risks involved. I...

Re: Hook Worms

Make sure that while they have the worms and for a few days after you pick up all of their poop in the yard. I know it will be hard if you let all the dogs out in the yard vs just walks but if you don't pick up the poop they will just stay in your yard. Your dogs may even be eating some and continui...

I live less than a mile from the river and my dog LOVES swimming. Sometimes I even have a hard time getting her out of the water. I think she's part otter.

Re: Anal Glands?

I had chronic problems with my dog's anal glands a while back. No blood or vet visits but I also work at a grooming salon so I had knowledgeable people around and I knew how to express them. I expressed them myself on a weekly basis for a while. Changing her food has defiantly helped. It came back w...

Re: Healthy House Cleaning (Long but food for thought)

I just wanted to add a recipe for making your own laundry detergent on here for those of you who are interested. I haven't made this yet, I just snagged it from another site. Here’s what you need: 1 bar of soap, I use Dr. Bronner's Castile because it's vegan 1 box of washing soda. I use Arm & Ha...
