Meet Butters! Minnesota - Twin Cities

This is my foster dog, Butters. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/Laiinkyree/CIMG2795.jpg http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o282/Laiinkyree/CIMG3061.jpg He's estimated at 2-3 years old. He was pulled from a shelter when his time was up. We've had him for about 3 1/2 weeks so far. He's a littl...

Re: Torn CCL Sugury-what to expect

Weird...when Spud tore his CCL, the vet told us about the two surgeries they could do. the fishing-line one, and the TPLO. They told me they wouldn't recommend the fishing-line one to a pit bull, as they could easily rip it and be back to square one. o.O

Re: Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

Talked to the vet again this morning. Before bringing him in, since I have the pills they would recommend for him anyways, we're going to do the two weeks of strict rest to see if it gets better. I have a weeks' worth of pills left, so at the end of the week I can just go in and they'll give me anot...

Re: Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

We started giving him his pain killers we had left from before again. (We went to Vet #1 at the very beginning of his leg thing, then switched to vet #2 who gave us a new prescription of the same stuff. We called the vet to ask if it was okay for him to take what we had left, and they said yes.) The...

Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

Apparently Fate, or Mother Nature has it in for Spud and me. He is almost finished with his recovery period from TPLO surgery on his right hind leg. As in, this was his last week before returning to no restrictions. Unfortunately, thanks to the surgery/recovery time, and some idiot friends of my bro...

Re: Why is it always Spud?!

It's a gas chamber in our house when Spud has the fish flavor of TOTW :( The vet suggested that I feed him Hills Science Diet T/D when I was there. Well......honestly I don't want him eating that crap unless I have to. Are there any better brands of food that you guys would suggest before I stick hi...

Minneapolis, MN?

I heard from a friend that Minneapolis is putting into effect some sort of pit bull restrictions. I can't find anything on it, have any of you heard about this?

Re: Why is it always Spud?!

Thank you bullheaded, I'll ask my vet about it when I give her an update monday. Well Spud is eating again, thankfully. He's on boiled chicken and white rice for the rest of the weekend, then we will be slowly reintroducing his food back into it and see what happens. Hopefully all will be well. But ...

Re: Help Needed getting puppies from CA to MN

Yes - the AC that they were in has a mandatory spay/neuter before they leave rule.

2 of the puppies actually got adopted before we pulled them. The third's potential adopters never showed up. He's sitting in foster healing from kennel cough at the moment.

Re: Help Needed getting puppies from CA to MN

EVERYONE PRAY! - I may have found a home for that pit bull puppy I have been trying to get to MN. I am watching two kitties for someone who had to move to Las Vegas. She loves pit bulls and would love to adopt him. She has to check the rules in her condo though - so Pray that they have no rules agai...

Re: Why is it always Spud?!

He eats Taste of the Wild. Right now we're mixing it with Diamond because we're pretty much broke.

We have no idea what caused this either. I hope he doesn't have to be hospitalized! I feel like a crap owner saying this but we do not have the money for that right now :crybaby:

Why is it always Spud?!

I have owned Spud for about a year and a half now. In that time he's racked up about $4,000 in medical bills. I'm starting to think I adopted an english bulldog in disguise! He was being picky with his food monday, taking 5 minutes to eat it instead of 1. Then Tuesday he'd eat but not finish his foo...

Re: Face biting

PITtsburgher said what I was going to suggest. When you're not home, put her in your room and lock the door. A new door handle is easy to install if you don't have one that locks. When you leave the room (even to go to the bathroom), she comes with you.
