Re: Really long toenails - info please

I dremel, but they are nearly as short as the pic posted... I am off to charge the dremel. Clearly we have work to do...

Maven suffers the dremel but hates it.. the sound of the thing being on. She growls and oans and complains about the entire process.

Re: How can someone think THIS is ok??

Lord do I hate people sometimes.. then someone like you steps in and takes in a dog that is in need at the hand of "humans" and pow.. my faith in humanity is restored.

Re: Have we done submissive peeing recently?

I had very similar thoughts. And I would rather be a bitch than a whiner so I did lay it down for the woman politely but pointedly. I would avoid any further classes with the two dogs in them for sure. My boy has a great personality. I don't need him to ever feel like he is backed into a corner with...

Have we done submissive peeing recently?

Ari has developed this in the puppy class. Not human related, but a multiple, large breed, intact male response. I try to ignore it and just mop it up, but last night at the last class, he just pee'd and pee'd and The lady who owned the Akita's in question was clueless and stupid (IMHO) and I wanted...

So we will graduate Puppy1

after that do I do Puppy 2 OR Puppy 2 and start scent... Puppy one was required before starting scent.. He is still under 6 months and the socialization of the puppy classes is good for him.... seems I have some free time now;). Should I keep both of us challenged or baby steps?

Re: How do I stop him from crying?

Same stuff here when Ari came home. He DID settle down after a couple of days. Do the things suggested above AND I have found wa warm towel or blanket fresh from the drier helps as well. He now has a large cheap azz tiger I picked up from ikea he snuggles with. I also have a small fan that creates &...

Re: Gotti went after a horse...

This is why.. especially due to my lifestyle... Ari and Maven were exposed to horses very young. Though I would not let them off leash no matter how submissive, non aggressive they are. Injury to the horse is one thing... a direct blow to the dog is another. Horses can kick and cause a compound frac...

Re: Walking your dogs

I do atleast an hour in the am and "something"... frisbee, ball.. whatever, in the pm.... A tired dog is a good dog in my world.... Of course there are times when there are physical limitiations for either the dogs or me... then things adjust.

Re: Lump on Sugar's leg ... Thoughts appreciated

I agre with the others.. we ALL screw up... Maven had 2 surgery on the same knee within a 2 week period AND when the hardware was removed they used staples and it didn't matter what was on her to protect the site, the staples were coming out.. We visited the vet 2x in one day to re staple BEFORE we ...

Re: Lump on Sugar's leg ... Thoughts appreciated

Oh my heart just dropped a mile. I hope it's nothing, and certainly hope it is nothing. My heart dog, Kale, had a few of those. Exactly like that.. left front.. I pray it is better for Sugar than it was for us! Go see your vet and have the thing removed. Sugar is lovely. Please don't wait too long.....
