Nobody is helping. (Pika? Or What?)

So my dog, Eris, likes to eat things. Firstly, it is NOT destructive chewing. This can happen right after I've exercised and trained the dogs. She will go find something and actually INGEST it. She either throws it up or it shows up in her stool the next day. We NEVER have problems with her chewing ...

Re: Special Needs. (Hip Dysplasia and more)

You can ask about proin for his incontinence issues, if you're open to using medication. It was offered to us with our old guy and I know a lot of people have success with it. To me, personally, if the medication works it's the best option with incontinence. You have to watch for urine burns with d...

Re: Special Needs. (Hip Dysplasia and more)

Yeah, the more I am reading about it, the more it does seem like distemper.

Other than neurological damage and teeth decay, are there any other secondary symptoms to CDV? He has a lot of other weird quirks as well.

Re: Special Needs. (Hip Dysplasia and more)

I just looked up CDV and I don't think that's what he had. I think his homes prior to this wouldn't have taken the steps to prevent something like that. And most of the articles I'm reading are saying that most tooth enamel loss is due to tartar build up on the teeth. BUT he does sometimes (this is ...

Re: Special Needs. (Hip Dysplasia and more)

Thank you so much RGyoung!!! I will look into the fish oils immediately. I'm also looking into heat massages prior to exercising in order to relax the muscles as well as pain killers prior to exercise. I was reading more on hip dysplasia and it says ramps are easier on their hips than staircases. I'...

Re: I seem more poor now, than before I had a job . .

I can relate. I have a fund set aside in case one of my dogs randomly ends up needing some crazy surgery that is going to cost me a fallabidyjillion dollars. I slowly put in a little money (about 5% of my paycheck) every 2 weeks. Although I've found I'm not spending much money on myself, I am much h...

Re: Worried :(

Does your dog have food allergies? My pit has severe allergies to poultry and has showed it in many different ways. Recently, she got a hold of our other dog's food (it has chicken in it) and started doing that head bobbing thing. Have you changed your dog's food lately? I'm sure it's something enti...

Re: front legs keep shaking

Have you taken your dog outside or on walks? You say he is only 11 weeks old. I'm sure you know this, but just in case: Don't take your dog on walks or trips outside until you get it's 4 month rabies-parvo vaccinations. Parvo is lethal and the woman who runs the rescue I got my pit from knew several...

Oops x_x I didn't see that last post you posted.

Yikes! I suppose it depends on what your dog cuts their paw on.

Just like everyone else who posted: My dog did this a couple weeks ago. lol Just as bad as your pup did. It took awhile for it to heal and she opened it up about two more times. (She's a puppy with a lot of energy) We would get a bowl of warm water with Epsom salt and soak her paw in it every time s...

Also. From what I understand, Wellness is the only pet food that doesn't have that chemical preservative they put in fish ingredients that are in most dog foods. I forget what the chemical is called. :huh?:

Re: Kibble help

:D We started feeding the Wellness brand. My mom's staffy wasn't feeling well (she's an old girl with small feet :c ) so I recommended it to her as well. (I try not to be pushy. My mother's the kind of woman who would say something like "Dont tell my how to raise my dog, I raised you and you tu...
