Re: Damien has heartworms. :(

You can also save a ton of money by buying Ivomec 1% injectible from a feed store or you can order it from Jeffers, Kvvet etc. and dosing on your own. You just draw out the right dose into your syringe, take off the needle and squirt the Ivomec into the back of your dog's mouth. I mix it with chicke...

Re: Paradoxical reaction to Xanax (alprazolam)

Anyone have a dog that's experienced a paradoxical reaction to Xanax? Today I learned that Button, apparently, is one of the small percentage of dogs that become extremely excited and hyper on the stuff ... he's taken it before, but I never remembered him having any negative response to it. Last ti...

Re: Question Regarding Shelters Partnering with Rescues

Thanks for the feedback. If anyone else has something to add in the future, please do so. I have an open request for partnership with a county HS in event of a large scale intake like a dog fighting bust or some such and am not sure how to handle it. Maybe contacting a lawyer is best but I'm not eve...

Question Regarding Shelters Partnering with Rescues

Ok. For those of you who run a rescue, do you have a working relationship with SPCA and Humane Societies or do you do more grass roots rescues only? If you do partner with an SPCA or HS, what exactly does this entail? Who pays for what? Are animals vetted and sneutered before they get to you? Who de...

Re: Immune system supplements?

To pay that kind of money, I would go with something with an actual track record that is available through holistic vets.

Hi All-

Here is a chipin page I set up if you want to donate that way. I will send all money directly to Val each week. Thanks!

Re: What Sports Can I Do With My Dog?

:goodpost: Maybe if Mark wants to really participate in the forum by donating his product for testing by someone who bikes a lot with dogs, (like me,) and will do an honest review, (like me,) then people won't be so sick of his advertisements in every forum section. I'd give it back after i used it ...

Re: Sneaky's latest ordeal

Because Sneaky is a freakin nutjob and I have too many nutjobs already and also because she's Val's dog and part of her family, although I know she had a hard time admitting this for a while.

Any good news on Sneaky's finger?

Yeah I know... didn't mean to come off like you are not doing what you have to do. I guess I just feel helpless and this reminds me of hard times and I know how you must feel these months is much much worse. Wish I could fix her up for you.

Re: Sneaky's latest ordeal

Oh man. So they are attributing Sneaky's massive inflammatory response to simple ringworm? That's all? That makes little sense to me since she would probably be symptomatic on other areas of her body as well. Wouldn't she have to be pretty immuno-compromised among other things for such a thing to ha...
