Of sneezing and a few other things?

So for the past few days Xena and Tina have been sneezing pretty frequently, with a clear runny noses. No change in energy or appetite. Today Xena seems to be reverse sneezing and gagging a little(some gagging is not uncommon as she likes to eat small stones and other things off the floor). I'm plan...

Re: Please think of her

If some one starts a chipin I'm sure we'd all like to be able to help Tigger in whatever way we can. Sorry to hear that things went back down, still praying for her to pull through all of this!

Lick and nuzzles from Xena and Tina and best wishes and prayer from my man and I!

Re: Joint Supplements

We use human grade glucosimine for our girls as per recommended by their vet. The only catch is that for dogs you need the glucosimine HCL, NOT sulfate as apparently it doesn't metabolize the same way. We just buy whatever is cheapest in the 500 mg pills. Currently costco seems to have the best pric...

MissKiwi I was going on what I've been told by several vets here in Canada. I'll keep in mind that not all countries do thing the same way though, thanks for the reminder, I shouldn't make blanket statements :)

Re: Help a pup, get a collar!

If you click on the chip in link it tells you how much more they need.

Right now it's saying they've raised $450 out of the $500 - so only $50 to go!!!

Re: hair loss in a puppy

Most vets will point you towards the foods that fund their nutritional classes like Science Diet. You can find some good foods, like blue buffalo in pestmart and stores like that. Other than that check your phone book for smaller pet stores in your area as they tend to carry the higher end brands.

Re: hair loss in a puppy

Science diet is not considered a very good diet amongst nutritionally educated folks. Most try to go with a grain free, high quality kibble. Orijin, Arcana, Timberwolf, Taste of the Wild are all popular choices. There are alot of thread in the health forum about good foods, some of them are actually...

Re: Thought of this question and was curious....

I feed 2-3x per day, 3x if I know I'm home all day 2x if I have to go out. I find my girls start puking up bile if not fed at least 2x per day and if free fed they'd gorge til they were back at their 19 and 120 lb states that we got them in.

Re: So stiff!

Human grade glucosimine HCL (not sulfate) you can find it at any drug store and for my 75 lb rottie cross she gets 2 tablets a day at 500 units. So a 45 ish lb pet bull would likely get 500 units a day or 1 tablet. They offer a liquid form as well but it's very sticky and I'm not sure the dosage. . ...

Also it looks like specialists aren't covered unless they are in their vet network. Here's the list for Maryland...that is where Baltimore is, right? http://www.petassure.com/vets_veterinarians_in_MD" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for other states you can scroll down on the main page...
