Re: IMHA and ITP

I forgot to mention that, with the pred, the swelling in his face has gone down significantly. However, the lymph nodes remain slightly enlarged and hard.

IMHA and ITP

Hello everyone - it's been quite a while since I've been here! I have an almost 5-year-old pit bull named Koda. He's always been a generally healthy dog, so the past few weeks have been a saga that I'd love to get some feedback/input/advice on! A month ago today, making it April 29th, we returned fr...

Re: Any thoughts as to what this might be?

Well, we had the last appointment yesterday evening, so they're still looking over the slides. The doctor took a sample of the fluid or substance inside to look at. She said it had a lot of white blood cells (I think she called them nutrilites or something?) and giant cells. I don't really know what...

Any thoughts as to what this might be?

I noticed this bump on Koda's stomach about a week or two ago. It's about the size of my pinky fingernail and it's close to his belly button. It is raised, but he doesn't seem to mind if I touch it. It's red around the edges and black at the center. http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx159/seb0191/5...

Re: Shaking head....?

Go on YouTube and search "idiopathic head tremors." is this what you're seeing?

My dog has these as a result of distemper as a pup. They're not harmful for him, but it's worth talking to your vet about.

Re: Favorite Names that are NOT over used!

Although I already have this name set for a bearded dragon, I like the name Conkling. I'd never heard until I met my boyfriend. It was his great grandfather's name.

So, in December probably, I'll have Conk the bearded dragon. Lol

Re: Pit Bull - Needs Home - Male - Dallas, TX

Ugh. Trust me, the rescues around here are jammed, as I'm sure they are everywhere else. When I tried to place that Rottie puppy, not a single rescue or shelter would take her. One offered to advertise her on their websites if I agreed to foster. Could someone foster by chance? Metroport Humane Soci...

Re: Pit Bull - Needs Home - Male - Dallas, TX

I'm really disappointed to hear this! I'll send the picture to my dog trainer and see if he's got any rescue connections. Let us know if anything happens with him!

I PM'd you the three groups who were nice and replied that day. I also sent the list I used to contact everyone from. Good luck!

Re: Pit Bull - Needs Home - Male - Dallas, TX

I found a rottie mix a few weeks back and emailed literally every rescue in the area. If you still need help, I can go back through my emails to see which rescues responded and were willing to at least consider helping.

Re: Long term effects of distemper?

Thank you for that website link. It was very helpful. It seems that most of his effects are neurological. He hasn't had vision or skin issues that I've noticed. And muscle spasms are listed as possible brain and spinal swelling side effects, so it makes sense. I'm just hoping we'll continue at this ...

Long term effects of distemper?

I posted a few months back about my dog, Koda. He had been displaying some weird head twitching behavior, and the veternarian decided it was likely idiopathic head tremors resulting from prior neurological trauma. Once I told her the symptoms he presented with when I found him and the fact that his ...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

Now I'm getting emails back from all the rescues telling me she was adopted. That shelter must hate me right now for all these people calling about one dog!
