Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

I plan to go get her if there are no other options. I just had another rescue email me back and said they can't take her, but can advertise her on their website if I foster her. I've never done anything like that before, mostly because my dog is a whack-a-doodle when it comes to predictability of hi...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

I've emailed literally 40 rescues this morning. I've offered to pay for her spay and everything. Everyone says no. I even emailed Rottweiler specific rescues and they've said no because there's no way to tell what she's mixed with. I'm becoming extremely discouraged at this point. I'm just hoping th...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

Thanks everyone for the support. She has not been pulled yet, but I'm keeping a close eye on it. I also had my dog trainer start calling some of the rescues he works with to see if anyone can pull her. Apparently adoptions are extremely bad right now. But I'm still trying, and my dog trainer has off...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

Just thought I'd give a little update. One of my mom's co-workers fosters dogs. She currently has 5 and cannot take in any more, but she has fostered from the shelter where this puppy is located. She gets weekly emails stating which dogs are up for euthanasia. The shelter sent out an email yesterday...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

The shelter now has her listed on their PetFinder site: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19719764 She's just too precious for words! She weighs A LOT more than I thought - she's actually 34 pounds. I'm still trying to find a rescue to take her, but they're so full because of the fact that it's sum...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

Thanks! I've contacted a few rescues and had to leave messages because it's a holiday. I'm hopeful that someone will have a spot open. I told my boyfriend he better start helping me find someone to adopt her, because come June 3rd, I'm pulling her if no one else can. lol that put a little kick in hi...

Re: Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

Thank you for the reply! I tried to contact two shelters yesterday, and I felt like they basically laughed at me. I'm going to call the one my parents adopted their dog from today. I thought maybe I'd have a little more pull with them since they know my family, but who knows. I'll keep trying though!

Dallas Area Members - Help me save this dog! (non PB)

I took my dog for a walk yesterday at the park we always go to. It's a soccer and baseball field area, but no one is ever there. There is a large gate at the entrance to the park to close it off when there's rain and whatnot. As we drive and approach the gate, I see a dog in the shade of the gate. N...

Re: Walking Harnesses for the High Maintenance...

Look at how fun that Missy V one is! Just out of curiousity, and because modified harnesses will be more expensive, how much did you guys pay for these harnesses? I saw the CD Pits one was $45 plus shipping, and the Missy V one was $30-35, but how much did you end up paying total? Just shot her an ...

Re: Walking Harnesses for the High Maintenance...

See, to me, that fleece looks less hot than the fur! Thanks for the link - I'll check that site out!

Seriously... I know my dog is a boy, but those painted nails are to die for!

Re: Walking Harnesses for the High Maintenance...

Do CD Pits or Missy V offer other types of padding on their harnesses other than the fur lining? I wonder if it would be worth my time to pad the whole harness, and not just the front "Y" shaped portion. Maybe that's a little over kill though. lol

Re: Walking Harnesses for the High Maintenance...

Thank you all for the suggestions! I'd seen the CD Pits harnesses before in my searching, but hadn't looked at the Missy V ones before. My question for both harnesses deals with the fur? How thick is it? Is it going to make him too hot? I like the idea of it to prevent rubbing his his skin, but I al...

Walking Harnesses for the High Maintenance...

I've recently been looking into harness possibilities on the internet. I've always been slightly wary of ordering customized items online, so I tend to stick with purchasing pet store harnesses. Needless to say, they've all failed in one way or another. Let's just be honest here, Koda is high mainte...
