Re: Favorite Names that are NOT over used!

I love "smarty pants" names, Dexter, Eliot, Addison, ect.
My next dog, no matter the breed will have a western type name though.
Cowboy, Weston, Hoyt (favorite), Dixie... something along those lines.

Dexter cut his foot

I took Dexter to the beach today and didn't notice until we got home that he cut one of his toe pads. Its not that bad, needing only some good scrubbing and some anti-bacterial cream. But when he tries to play or goes outside to potty he opens the cut back up. I would like to wrap it so that if he d...

Re: Coughing/wretching?

Its just kennel cough. Dr. said that heart and lungs sound good, did a HW test and came back negative. Dex has been put on Baytirl and Temaril twice a day.

Re: Coughing/wretching?

Thank you. He hasn't been too bad so far today. Just one more very short episode. It mainly affects him first thing in the morning or late at night. His apt is first thing in the morning. For kennel cough would the vaccinate him again and give him antibiotics? Treatment isn't an issue, I would just ...

Re: Coughing/wretching?

He almost went to the emergency vet this morning. Hes been here for 6 months or so and has never heard the smoke alarms go off. Well if one goes off anywhere else in the house for what ever reason they all go off and it is horrendously loud. He has slight fear issues (not uncommon in his breed) and ...

Re: Coughing/wretching?

Could he still get it if he was vaccinated for it 6 months ago? He has been going to the park the past cople of weekends, because I have been in too much pain to go for our usual walk. But the park has been nixed because of people bringing aggressive labs. But the park is out of the question from no...

Coughing/wretching?

My poor Dexter has this terrible cough that turns into him wretching, he hasn't thrown up but he seems like he might. This started yesterday and doesn't look like its stopping. He will be going to the vet first thing on Friday morning. My first thought was heart worm, he was tested 6 months ago and ...

Re: He's a little thin...

Okay, I have nixed the free feeding and started feeding him seperatly from th other dog. This morning in half and hour he only ate 1/4 of a cup in 30 minutes. He also gets his other snacks through out the day, high value treats for training, a pig ear one or twice a week and his kong at "bed ti...

Re: He's a little thin...

He can't be fed anymore than he already is getting, as he is free fed. I was thinking about mixing in canned food, he will probably be more inclined to sit and eat instead of just pick at it all day. He is on the chicken formula.

He is an adult, (will be 2 next month) but what is a satin ball?

He's a little thin...

What is a good quality dog kibble with a higher fat content? I need to put 4-6 pounds on Dex. When I gave him his bath yesterday, I could see his hips and spine a little too well. Hes free fed blue buffalo wilderness, He weighs 38 lbs. right now and I would like to see 42-45, he is an Australian She...

Dexter too, so he only gets in once a week or so, in his kong.
