I am looking for a new crate for Dexter, his current one is a Petmate from Petsmart. After a year of breaking it down and putting it back up every time we go visit family, which is a lot, it is starting to fall apart. I very much prefer the collapsible/folding black wire crates, but I need one that ...

Re: Potty'ing when raining.

Dexter is not fond of the rain either. He will going out and stick as close as he possibly can to the house to pee, but last week we had 5 straight days of rain and he didn't poop for 3 days. Finally I had to just sit outside with him on the leash, both of us soaked to the bone, because for some rea...

Re: Teaching bite inhinitation

Most of the time I use a a large "skinneeez" toy. Usually both hands are on either end or just one hand on one end, same if I'm using a rope toy.

Re: Teaching bite inhinitation

"Ouch!" is something he knows very well. lol, it was one of the first things he learned. He has learned to take his tennis ball and food very nicely with this, but stuffies and tugs, it just doesn't seem to click.

Re: Teaching bite inhinitation

I had forgotten I made his thread... The thing with teaching him to "take it" is he won't touch the toy unless I get him excited to play, if hes not excited about playing with the tug, he won't pay it any attention. I have never had any trouble training the many puppies that my mother brou...
