Totally random and kind of gross/strange

Bruno has an inverted nipple (I found it when I was picking off the dried cheese my baby somehow managed to get on him). It scared me at first because it was gross and dirty and filled with icky crud but once I cleaned him off, it just looks like a normal nipple, just going inside instead of out. I ...

Re: Questions about training for lying down

Kneel on one knee with the other up in front, entice your dog under the front leg with a treat and say the command when they are in the appropriate position. If the treat is near the floor they'll pretty well have to go into the down position to get it....I forget who told me about that one, but it...

Re: Back from the first trip to the vet, opinions on meds please

Do you have Meijer near you? It's like a super walmart. If you do, the Cephalexin is free there. And I just opened the capsules and put it directly on Bruno's food and he doesn't have any issues that way. Cephalexin is an antibiotic and should not be used without doctor supervision. We have more th...

Questions about training for lying down

I want to be able to give Bruno the command "down" and have him lie down. Although smart he isn't understanding it at all and physically refuses to comply when I try to help him down. How am I suppose to teach this to him if he won't LAY DOWN?! I end up having to literally force him down a...

Waiting for food training

I have been working with Bruno for about a week now to wait until I release him to eat his food. I am soooooooooo proud of him. The first day he was totally stumped as to why I was putting the bowl down but stopping him every time he'd head to it. He obeyed but was really struggling. By the end of t...

Re: Toy Review (with pictures and video!)

I think there is something wrong with my dog. He would never even glimpse at those things with the exception of a food filled kong. He is just too lazy!

It was fun to watch your dog work the toys. :)

She is very pretty. I wish you luck in finding some help for her or a forever home. I am sure it's stressful with your neighbor and all.

Re: Snoring

Bruno snores too....but he is a bulldog mix so I am not too shocked. What does bother me (or rather concern me) is that he snores sometimes with just regular breathing. Or it sounds like snoring but is just loud breathing when he is awake. Then you add in the reverse sneezing he did and I was seriou...

Re: Not biting but still can't happen...what do I do?

I dont know the ages of both your kids.. but the Find Me For Food helps establish all people as above the dog, young kids it can be done with the baby in your lap, your arms around the kid, using your arms to "work" babies..make sense? But it isnt uncommon for pups to see kids as equals, ...

Re: Not biting but still can't happen...what do I do?

My older kids have claimed he has done this to them too although I have not seen it. How old are your older kids? It's almost never a good idea to allow kids and dogs to be alone without adult supervision. Just because this is a common problem that comes up. 6 and 3. When I say I haven't seen it I ...
