Could use some ideas.

So I have never in my life ever owned a dog that "put on weight" like Bruno has. So - I feel totally lost on how to help him lose some weight. Other than decreasing or changing his food, I realize he needs exercise but could you guys point me in a good direction? I am a stay at home mom to...

Whoa....I can't believe he waited!!!

I am the one that usually trains and commands Bruno. But for whatever reason, my husband decided to try something today using my guidance from the dining room. He brought Bruno into the living room and put him into a sit. then he had him "down" (took him a few moments because he kept sayin...

Re: explosive poo....help

This might sound stupid you guys but I am so confused. At his foster he got Purina dog food. He never had any issues there that she was aware of. Of course he was a skin nightmare with all the collar and such. Then we adopt him and the mange flared up horrible - we get that treated. Then he throws u...

Re: explosive poo....help

I called the vet this morning...he was standing in liquid poo again this morning.

I did boiled rice and some cottage cheese to help try to bind him up. And a pepto tablet. Gee whiz....are all dogs this sensitive to diet changes?

explosive poo....help

It's 3 am and I am just finished cleaning up liquid brown poo from the crate for the 2nd time in a row.

Bruno has literally had water poo the last 48 hours...what do I do? He came back from my parents just fine but had a food switch because they ran out...and now this. Any input would be helpful.

Poor Luke....getting blamed for all of this. I don't believe one word out of your mouth I tell ya....he is most probably innocent and the rats are doing all the damage and framing him. Or maybe it's a lizard. Yep...gotta be one of them.

My boy is home

Bruno is home and looks great. He was so happy to see me and my daughters...I almost cried. His incision is awful looking...all frankenstein-ish but hey...I'll take it. Stitches out in 2 weeks. He is already passed out in "his" spot on the couch with a blankie. :)

Re: Bruno surgery update

Seeing something on x-ray and not finding it when you go take a peek is not unusual at all... I would be shocked if your insurance didn't at least cover some portion of the costs. The good news is your vet DID look at every last inch of your pups GI tract, and there's nothing to be concerned about....

Bruno surgery update

Hey everyone! I am back from a great camping weekend with the family & finally able to update with more details on Bruno. So you all know he ate a corn cob, puked some of it up, and was punk/vomiting/not eating on and off for 10+ days. Last Thursday I took him for an xray finally since he got si...

surgery tomorrow - please think good thoughts for Bruno & I

Remember the corn cob he at over 10 days ago? Well he was puking again this morning. It has been on and off since it happened. And I finally asked my vet for an xray. Sure enough...he has a decent sized chunk of something (ahem - corn cob) rolling around in his stomach. The vet thinks it is acting l...

Re: I don't know what to do...

Why not feed him some canned pumpkin to help "grease the wheels" bowel wise? Yeah, someone had suggested that as well. I might do that today. He is going to come home this morning. The vet said what he felt yesterday isn't there...so either it's a partial that is moving about or it's not ...

Re: I don't know what to do...

OMG really?! The vet put him on the table to take the xray and then the tech said that the machine wasn't working....and it was indeed BROKEN. We talked and he said he was very mopey when I left but after about a half hour perked up a bit to even play some. So they offered him some food to see...

Re: I don't know what to do...

I did try to palpate myself. I didn't think there was anything in the intestines yet but other than that...I don't know what I am feeling. I decided to take him in after puking more today. The vet said he was to feel him and just be certain so I didn't have to deal with a true emergency over the wee...
