I don't know what to do...

I am so tired of feeling lost as to what to do. Bruno is back to vomiting today although it's minimal. He had a bowel movement yesterday and has been eating and drinking (although not like he normally does). How long can I just sit around and wait and hope that he isn't blocked and will be fine? Is ...

Re: Does ayone else's dog suffer from allergies??

Yep my boy has pretty bad allergies but thankfully not like yours! UGH. What a nightmare...I feel for you. I too add fish oil and vit E (obviously that won't work for you). I feed a fish based food as well again, won't work for you. I will say I did find an organic bar soap that helped with his coat...

Re: update to my emergency advice needed the other day

I have one but it's crappy from her phone. I will try to upload it a bit later. Cute pup.

I did get her to tell me the total bill for the incident. $2700 for surgery plus the ER visit.

update to my emergency advice needed the other day

Just a quick update. My friend did indeed opt for the plating as it was just as expensive to amputate and Daisy is so young. So, Daisy is home now and doing very well. Taking all her medications like a good dog. She did beautifully during surgery and the vet said it was a great plate job. So after s...

Re: Allergy-Red nails

Bruno almost ALWAYS has the faint hint of it. I too wish it would go away fast.

Re: bones..

I am mean and paranoid...so no "bones" here per say. Bruno likes a nylabone and we do have one medium sized plain white leg bone thing...but he isn't so in to it.

Re: This has got to be the unluckiest dog

Oh dear.....that is a SAD picture! I feel awful when our pets are sick especially THAT sick. Give him as much love as you can and I will be praying for that 2-3 day mark. How long as it been now? 1, 2? Sheesh...I am so happy he has you though despite the cost I am sure he is worth it.

Re: allergies and staph infections oh joy...

I totally understand the need to help cope. It's rough. Some days will be great and then all of a sudden it will get bad again. Just hang in there....remember that it's a trial and error thing. If you are interested, I can share with you my ''system" of battling both of those issues. I dont' wa...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

3 dogs hit by cars in 5 years is not something that just happens. This dog can't afford to lose another leg. She needs to get this under control. You would have to know the full story and situation before you could make that judgement so try to remember that. Both of her dogs she lost were containe...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

Someone broke the 2nd dog's locked kennel to let it out? Was this at the same house she lives in now? I wonder if the dog was a barker and a neighbor got tired of it. :( Yep, she filed a police report, the police tried to see what they could do but basically said they couldn't do much for her and a...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

I know....I feel awful for her. She is angry at her daughter but like I told her - as owners we do our very best to avoid these things but we aren't perfect and neither is life. An adult could have just as easily left the door open. Sometimes things just happen. I couldn't even understand her when t...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

I am the proud owner of a tripod pup. He had his leg amputated at 8 weeks, due to an attack from an adult dog when he was 6 weeks old. If she does choose to amputate over surgery, there is a lot of information out there for her. There are many resources out there for amputee dogs, there is even an ...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

I would get the dog to a vet who specializes in bones/surgeries. A young dog and such a break has a much better chance of long term success. And a proper surgeon can give her real time advice with much more experience. There are osteo docs in quite a few places, And MSU even can be cheaper than peo...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

Yes, she has until tomorrow. They are going to medicate her through the night for pain and my friend will be calling her regular vet in the am and the quote she got for the plate surgery for the guy down the road was $1500-$2000 plus the bill for the ER tonight. I think she paid $500 tonight to star...
