Re: Allergy-Red nails

Bruno almost ALWAYS has the faint hint of it. I too wish it would go away fast.

Re: bones..

I am mean and paranoid...so no "bones" here per say. Bruno likes a nylabone and we do have one medium sized plain white leg bone thing...but he isn't so in to it.

Re: This has got to be the unluckiest dog

Oh dear.....that is a SAD picture! I feel awful when our pets are sick especially THAT sick. Give him as much love as you can and I will be praying for that 2-3 day mark. How long as it been now? 1, 2? Sheesh...I am so happy he has you though despite the cost I am sure he is worth it.

Re: allergies and staph infections oh joy...

I totally understand the need to help cope. It's rough. Some days will be great and then all of a sudden it will get bad again. Just hang in there....remember that it's a trial and error thing. If you are interested, I can share with you my ''system" of battling both of those issues. I dont' wa...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

3 dogs hit by cars in 5 years is not something that just happens. This dog can't afford to lose another leg. She needs to get this under control. You would have to know the full story and situation before you could make that judgement so try to remember that. Both of her dogs she lost were containe...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

Someone broke the 2nd dog's locked kennel to let it out? Was this at the same house she lives in now? I wonder if the dog was a barker and a neighbor got tired of it. :( Yep, she filed a police report, the police tried to see what they could do but basically said they couldn't do much for her and a...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

I know....I feel awful for her. She is angry at her daughter but like I told her - as owners we do our very best to avoid these things but we aren't perfect and neither is life. An adult could have just as easily left the door open. Sometimes things just happen. I couldn't even understand her when t...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

I am the proud owner of a tripod pup. He had his leg amputated at 8 weeks, due to an attack from an adult dog when he was 6 weeks old. If she does choose to amputate over surgery, there is a lot of information out there for her. There are many resources out there for amputee dogs, there is even an ...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

I would get the dog to a vet who specializes in bones/surgeries. A young dog and such a break has a much better chance of long term success. And a proper surgeon can give her real time advice with much more experience. There are osteo docs in quite a few places, And MSU even can be cheaper than peo...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

Yes, she has until tomorrow. They are going to medicate her through the night for pain and my friend will be calling her regular vet in the am and the quote she got for the plate surgery for the guy down the road was $1500-$2000 plus the bill for the ER tonight. I think she paid $500 tonight to star...

Re: HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

Ok, thank you Yvette. I will let her know. She is FREAKING out about the cost. I feel so bad. She is a single mother and her daughter left the door open and the dog got out. :( This is her THIRD dog she has lost in the last 5 years due to accident. :( The first two someone else let her dogs out for ...

HELP READ - NEED ADVICE EMERGENCY

My best friend's golden was hit by a car about 2 hours ago. Her leg is broken. she is not even a year old. The vet said the break is below the shoulder and the shoulder bones are completely intact. The 2 options are: plate the break OR amputate I don't have any experience with either of these option...

Re: YAY! good vet check today!

I think it's funny that he is so little that he FIT into the booster seat when curled into a ball. BUT to his defense...he gained 2 lbs so he is a whopping 44 lbs now! :)
