Bruno needed was due for a heartworm test so we had a check-up for him today. And the vet was VERY happy and impressed with how well I am managing his allergies and overall skin issues. Said it's probably by far the best condition he has seen one of his severe allergy pets lately. He was very happy ...

Re: my damn cats

Can your husband help? One of our cats isn't so bad but the other turns into a Tasmania devil. Usually Austin will hold the cat. You hold the two back feet in one hand. Then you put your other hand on their chest and sort of push their arms back-so they can't move them. And then I get the mouth. I ...

Re: my damn cats

I wonder if they can use a convenia injection instead of the amoxi and what about transdermal pred? My friend has a super stress-case cat who she can't pill and so she uses transdermal pred that she gets made here at the compounding pharmacy. You just run it on to the inside of their ear. Good idea...

I usually crush and mix with turkey or chicken flavored babyfood. Almost no cat can resist that stuff.

Yellow amoxicillian tablets. And half of a prednizone tablet.

Well I finally had to start wrapping them in a towel and holding them upright (almost like they were standing on back two legs) while I sat indian style. then I just snuggle them until I feel them swallow.

Re: help with skin issue my vet is even stumped.

I have 2 shampoos I was rotating between until I found this organic stuff. Those 2 are: prescription pharmaseb shampoo (antifungal) and Tropiclean Oatmeal with vitamin E & tea tree. They both helped a "smidge" but really never made me feel like they were fantastic. And never left him s...

Re: help with skin issue my vet is even stumped.

that sounds like a secondairy bacterial infection from allergies, vet usually gives a 10-14 day dose of Cephalexn to clear the pimples/ scabs/dry patches. Most dogs that get allergies are from the enviroment (around 90%) not food. I would also stop giving her the sweet potatoes/yams, they turn to s...

Re: my damn cats

Ok, I am gonna call them on Monday about it. I got bit again last night. Little crapper. And my old cat is not responding as well to the antibiotics as the little one. I am guessing that is normal due to his age but it worries me. I hope that this minor upper resp thing doesn't turn into something h...

Meijer. It's like Wal-mart but was started in Michigan so it's fairly local to Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Northern Kentucky and maybe Illinois.
