Was either the Wellness or raw meat recently introduced into the diet ? For some it can take weeks for their system to adjust. Also, what is the % fat of the meat. I think ideally you want lean meat. One with a high % fat could contribute to the soft poo.

A lot of the big name stores like Petsmart don't carry these foods. Usually you can go to the manufacturer website and punch in your location info. to find local stores that carry these foods. For example here are the links for Innova (Natura Pet Products) and Wellness (Old Mother Hubbard) http://ww...

Sometimes I'll break off a big chunk of banana and shove it into the Kong, then seal the hole w/ some reduced fat peanut butter and freeze. The banana part gets stuck in there pretty good, so it takes a while for Lilo to get through it.

I think no cooked bones across the board.

Once they're cooked they get brittle and break up into sharp pieces.

I heard grapes were bad too. Here's a link to some info. http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=grapes May want to be careful with those. Bananas are about the only thing we've tried so far. I am also interested to hear what else is ok to feed. It seems like seeds in general are not recommend...

Welcome ! If you could post your dog's age and weight, I think we could give you a more precise answer. For adults, I think twice a day is a good schedule. Be sure to feed a high quality food. There are many posts in this section that people have put their 2 cents in about what foods they like, and ...

I think the spazz attacks you mentioned are commonly referred to on here as "zoomies" :) . It is very common with this breed, and I don't believe it is necessarily a bad thing; however, she should not be nipping at you ever. Is it just a play nip or is it an aggressive nip ? Is she very food motivat...

Yea that fish & sp is definitely worth a try. Personally I kind of like to mix up the food a little bit just to keep things interesting. I figure the same thing all the time must get boring. I normally buy a 20# bag of Wellness Super5Mix Chicken, 6# bag of Wellness Fish & Sweet Potato. I usu...

Yea I don't think IAMS is very good. Another one of those main line companies using by products, fillers, chemicals. I don't know all of the chemicals off hand, but just comparing w/ what is in Canidae, you can see a noticeable difference when it comes to quality ingredients. Solid Gold, Canidae, an...

Local Pet Stores

Hey guys, I've been meaning to start a thread for everyone to share their favorite local pet stores. I was thinking mainly for the purpose of identifying stores carrying high quality foods, but if there's something else special about the store, please feel free respond. Just thought there might be s...
