Re: RAW food

I would feed bigger pieces so he HAS to chew. I was always told "the size of their head". I feed a lot of frozen meat, mainly because I never remember to take it out far enough in advance for it to thaw. Dogs CAN chew up frozen meat unless their jaws are screwed up. The largest thing Andre...

Re: Picking a vet?

A staff who understands reactivity towards other dogs and will happily get us into an exam room asap. Also, not making disparaging remarks about Amber's breed.

Re: The "dog" Sofa

No but I am allowed a human spot on the couch. Sometimes I even get to use my own pillow and have some covers. Our bed is very similar. :) If I'm really quick when we enter the bedroom, I can get a small sliver of the mattress and about two inches of the blanket. Not a chance with the pillows thoug...

Re: RAW food

I got a bunch of free stuff off Craigslist and then about 300 pounds of ground beef for 20 cents a pound from someone who butchered their own cow. Their kids refused to eat the ground beef because it was too fatty, so it ended up being freezer burned. They were going to just give it to us, but we en...

Re: Picking a vet?

You can look on AAHA.org. If the vet clinic is listed there, it means they have been AAHA accredited. (meaning they've had to pass 900 standards on everything from patient care to medical records keeping to client education to surgical techniques.) This doesn't mean that you'll "click" wi...

Re: RAW food

Wow its seems your dogs eat quite a bit of food. This might sound dumb and cheap but, I thought the raw diet on top of being better for my dog is also supposed to be cheaper. If my dog starts eating whole racks of ribs and whole chickens, we are going to be homeless lol Thats costly! Im not big dad...

Re: RAW food

Andre vomits bile a couple times a month in the morning. I haven't been able to pinpoint what's causing it yet. Sometimes it's after a supper of all ground beef, sometimes it's after a supper of pork ribs, or chicken. *shrug* Our vet told us to give him pepcid every night at bedtime to help control...

Re: Doggy gate

I just bought this one and the matching narrower one. I contemplated getting one with a "cat door" but I suspect I would have found a small human stuck halfway through the cat door. :) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51nVlNLxsKL.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Extra-Decorativ...

Awesome! I'm so glad that you like it. And the red inside matches his bed really well.

I think we need more pictures of Dexter!

Re: Ella's Lead has white leather on sale!

...unless the collar is dragged in mud, I don't see how this leather cannot hold up as well as other colored leathers. roflmao Dragging one another through mud is EXACTLY what my dogs do. And if they don't drag one another through it, they're rolling in it. I think I'll stick to black leather for m...

Re: Gee what a surprise. It's Spud again :(

Sorry for the DP. I just thought of something else. Call the University of Minnesota and see if they have any studies/options that may be beneficial to your situation. The worst they can do is say "no". When Tanner was diagnosed with lymphoma, we managed to get him into a couple different ...
