Re: Senior Lab diet help

I just received an update from Eclipse's owner. I wrote her this message last night : When Eclipse goes tomorrow, I'd probably ask for a senior bloodwork panel, a urinalysis, stool check and maybe even a radiograph. Something about his condition tells me that it's not just old age. I talked to a few...

Re: Senior Lab diet help

Thanks for the reply everyone! I've been wondering if he needed to go back, but I'm not sure whether or not they would do it again. Evidently the vet they are currently going to considers the weight loss and vomiting just due to old age. I know she's taking Isabella to the vet due to a leg injury fr...

Senior Lab diet help

I'm currently helping care for a 10.5 year old Lab mix named Eclipse, and two Great Pyrenees named Cowboy and Isabella. Eclipse is suffering. He needs to be well over 100 lbs but he is only eighty. You can see every rib in his body, every bone in his vertebrae, and his head looks so large that he sh...

Cody gets a table spoon of Wellness Senior Wet twice a day. Once around 9 A.M and again around 9P.M. I put it in the microwave for 9 seconds, add water, and give it to him. Maybelle's fed raw. The most time consuming part is to remember to take it out to thaw in the morning. But I just throw it outs...

My sister and the Blue Buffalo Rep at my store use it. I've heard really good things about it.

Re: Does this warrant a new vet?

Does she spend 30 minutes or more in the sun daily? Are you using a dog safe sun screen? If yes and no, it could be sun damage/sun spots. Several of my parents dogs get them, and they fade after a while. As long as the spots aren't raised or firm, like someone else said, there's not much to worry a...

Re: Does this warrant a new vet?

We did the bloodwork which came out fine, so I did go ahead with the dental.

The pigment changes and the lumps are not showing up on Cody. They're actually showing up on Maybelle which has be concerned. According to her adoption papers she should only be five?

Does this warrant a new vet?

I'm going to try to keep it nice and short. I've been to the vet at least once a week for the past five weeks. It all started with bringing Maybelle in to get a bump checked out on her ear, and I ended up bringing Cody along because he was due for his rabies vaccine (that's the only vaccine he gets ...

x2!

Cody just got a dental done and he was out of it for awhile. For the rest of the night and for the morning the next day. Now he's completely fine.

Try freezing it? Maybelle refused to touch her meat until I froze it, which consequently taught her how to chew.
