Re: Houdini dog, and mad mad me.

The next step is to probably consult a vet and also veterinary behaviorist. Also, stop leaving things of value out where he can get them. You have a dog who has shown he can be destructive. Why is anything important anywhere near him?

How about asking them so you will know for sure instead of speculating?

Separate baby and dog with baby gates. Work on building positive associations from behind the gate.

Re: Got my first Foster! Blinker!!!

I know the usual places to socialize like parks and stuff like that....but anyone have any good unorthodox places they like to socialize a dog...without it being a sensory overload since we need to take it slowly?? It sounds like the walk you took him on last night was too much for him. I think you...

Re: Flexi Leads...whats soo bad about em?

Not trying to pick on you, but I'm sort of surprised by your comments indicating that flexis are abusive. Shoddily made, yes, I totally agree. Poorly used by many, yes I definitely agree. Annoying in public when used by idiots, yep, I'm there. Dangerous for the incompetent, of course. But I'm just ...

Re: I almost lost my Stewie!!!!!!!! Food Change? Parvo? Vets

Penicillin for Parvo makes no sense. It might help a secondary bacterial infection but it isn't going to touch Parvo at all. Also, there doesn't seem to be any conclusive proof that your dog had Parvo...

Re: Should we euthanize our pit bulls?

It's an emotional time for you guys but at some point you have to realize the situation you put the 4 dogs in was not safe, otherwise you wouldn't have a dead dog on your hands. Rosa started the fight and Toby and Blu finished it- which is typical for Pit Bulls. If you didn't suspect 'mental problem...

Re: Tucker doesn't like kibble ...

AURRRGH! I had a vet do that to me with Cash (the kitten) when she left a voice mail that sounded like the next sentence out of her mouth was going to be "three weeks to live" and then finished with "Lower Urinary Tract Disease. Okay, well, thanks and have a great day!" I will n...

Re: Pros/Cons for spaying 8 yr old?

I've had an ancient Chihuahua neutered, adenomas removed, perianal hernias fixed and then a 3rd surgery to fix nerve damage caused by the perianal hernia surgery. He did fine and he had significant CHF. We did spend 8 weeks getting his liver in better shape and curing his kennel cough but after that...

Re: We've decided Molly is officially "foster girl Molly"

I havn't heard anything back from any of the rescues I contacted. Giving it a few days. But I might end up needing some help with resources of my own to find her a good home! You probably won't. It's too much work to train a new volunteer who is coming in with their own dog and will very likely onl...
