Re: Vaccination protocol

Erin, that's insane. And really disappointing. Regardless of whether they heard differently from another vet, they should be keeping up to date with current research and recommendations. I'd be leaving too, but not before making sure they understand why.

Re: Vaccination protocol

Our clinic follows AAHA protocol, so puppy series, one year boosters, then every three years for rabies/DAP. Every six months/yearly for bordetella as required and lepto yearly. There is an incentive to try and keep people coming in yearly, but not as a money-grab as some people argue. For one, laws...

Re: odd eating behaviors

Maybe I am humanizing their thought process too much, but I fear that if I do start to treat them differently and start separating them...that that is what will cause them to worry about their food too much and get protective. I don't know. Obviously I am very observant about it, and will continue ...

Re: NON-squeak soft toys?

Nice try, Allison - but aren't they treated on the outside with chemicals to prevent flame? I prefer my puppies chemical free and flaming. Or something. LOL I don't know. I know there was a story floating around facebook about the stuffing from human stuffies gelling when ingested because of the fi...

Re: Starter muzzle?

Those mussels have the look of a Hannibal lector mask. Haha! They seem like good muzzles though. Thanks for the link! I've been bookmarking everything I come across on here. Mine was hot pink and was about the friendliest looking one I could find. It has nice, big holes in the bottom for passing tr...

Re: NON-squeak soft toys?

I worry about too many people toys because of fire-"safe" treatments to them. She does like her water bottle toy, and she likes ropes and things, but she is definitely interested in stuffed toys too. Well, I assume you wouldn't let her ingest the stuffing. Would you? What are you trying t...

Re: Toy destruction

Cheap, easy to wreck toys are goners. We only buy Tuffy's which last a relatively long time. Wubbas last forever now that he doesn't have anyone to play tug with. Nylabones last a lifetime.

Re: NON-squeak soft toys?

Kids stuffies? You can find a chocolate ton of them for free or basically free since new parents get tonssssss. (So I hear, we are one of those rare families that didn't.)

Poor guy :(

When Obi has a flare up of cauda equina, it presents like hind leg pain. So it certainly could be neck pain?

Re: Urinary trouble

Gosh, no advice but I am sorry you're struggling with this. It's frustrating when they have an obvious issue but you can't figure out what it is.

Re: Bulbus Glandis or...?

They almost look to me like tiny specs of dried blood. Like I said, when I adopted him, I bathed him right away and they instantly disappeared. I have no idea really. Next time I see one, I will wet it and see if it smears reddish brown. He's fine now though. Whatever those lumps were are gone. He'...

Re: Bulbus Glandis or...?

Oh, no offensive taken and I didn't mean to imply I thought you were being neglectful. I just wanted to reassure you that it's always right to take your pet in if you're concerned. As for the black dots, my old lady used to get those quite often too. They weren't harmful so I always just left them a...
