Re: These damn puppies are going to be the death of me.

Oh I am right there with you with my two pups! Actually Mina is really good, she doesn't seem interested in chewing up much other than the bed or blankets, which even still I don't like - but SHE spits things out! The only things she eats which bother me are poop and sticks, both of which come back....

Re: Licks around when scratched above tail?

Momma must've hated my Mina. She turns around and starts gently chewing on my hand when I scratch her bum. Dante puts his ears out and his eyes bug out, and he flips his head back and forth like he's freaked out, but then when you stop he slides his bum back under your hand.

Re: Pup comming of age, dog hierarchy change?

I definitely wouldn't put so much worth into 'alpha' it's been disproved many times and quite frankly is a headache to try and understand! You're the leader of the dogs who makes the rules, feeds, loves, exercises and is responsible for the pups. That's about as far as you need to take the 'alpha' r...

Re: Switched food a month ago - still having diarrhea

How bad are his poops right now? Because Mina's poops were semi-OK and not really bad, the vet suggested we just do an immediate switch - we had a few days of runny poops and then they firmed right up. But, had her poops been runnier or softer we probably would've done a gradual switch to avoid full...

Re: Switched food a month ago - still having diarrhea

Have you had a fecal run on him lately just to be safe? My pups have food issues too and are sensitive to the change more so than any other dog I've owned, and we went through a few foods the first few months - I thought we'd never find a food that worked. It started to get worse so I took them in a...

Re: The mother of all Collar Mania update-contests and discount

Oh! you just shipped our collars out this week and already I want more!

Definitely count us in. If I *win* one collar, I can then justify buying 2 more for the other two, to hubby! lol

Congrats on all your success with the business! That's something to be really proud of!

Re: Bored dog indoors

We play a few games - you need to be actively involved though. A lot of dogs (mine are like this) get tired much easier and better from mental stimulation than physical. These dogs are meant to go all day physically, mental stimulation is tiring though. One of the games is with a muffin tin. I put a...

Re: Eating to fast

Does she heave or is it more a reverse sneeze? My beagle will reverse sneeze if she eats too quickly. She eats just like your brie. Actually, all three of my pups eat like they haven't eaten in weeks and may never eat again. I haven't found anything all that effective in slowing them down. Another t...

Re: I AM ECSTATIC!

Very big deal! Awesome!

I almost cried the other day when Dante attempted to initiate play for the first time with a dog we met on the street. He's usually just tail tucked, head turned "sniff me and go away" but he loved this dog!! I was ecstatic so I can imagine how happy you are!

Re: Tripod Boxer!!

How 'best suited to be an only dog' is this guy? Absolute must or??

May have a bite for you already, but he'd need to be in another home with dogs. 2 boxers, one who is a tripod due to osteosarcoma.

Would you mind if I posted his info on Tripawds.com?

They have a rescue and adoption section for people looking specifically for another tripod!

Re: Nobody is helping. (Pika? Or What?)

My last dog, which was a cockapoo - ate alll sorts of horrible things. An entire tube of Desenex. 600 balloons. Pounds upon pounds of chocolate (nothing was safe - not even the top of the fridge, we had to install kiddie locks on all cabinets, and I lived with stoners at the time that never put the...

Re: Freezing on Walks

[...] Hubby also found keeping his leash tight and short with his collar sitting up by his ears works too, for some reason. [...] Well, that "works" because it's uncomfortable for Dante, and less uncomfortable if he keeps moving forward. Actually I think it's the opposite for him. I think...

Re: Freezing on Walks

Dante did this. Dante still does this from time to time. He'll stop moving. Initially we thought it was physical, he's missing a leg and maybe wasn't coping well. No. This dog can fly around the block like nobodies business, when he wants to . Other days, we'd make it 5 steps away from the house and...
