Re: Sweet Steel Magnolia - still looking

Maggie's back, thin (very thin) with long toe nails, dirty ears but surprisingly her coat looks pretty good. Her adoptive owners sent me an email saying they couldn't keep her because their son had developed allergies....whatever, they had her for almost 5 months. She's glad to be home, has a full b...

Re: Need Feedback your experience as a foster

I was thinking she looks kind of houndy, like a lemon/white walker mix

Re: Patterdale anyone?

He did finally get a home, not the home I had wanted but a good home. I wanted a working pet home, one that would do something with him like earth dog. But he got a good home, he's living with a 50something couch potato in a condo that wanted a lap dog. There's a small yard and a dogpark near by.

Re: Need Feedback your experience as a foster

I agree with the other two. If not all family members are on board - do not do it. It requires a commitment from everyone. ALso, do not do it if you expect the dogs to get along. They may not and it's not fair to make the commitment to save a life and then turn around and take it back. I realize it ...

Re: Damage to Foster Homes

Over 5 years of fostering, fosters have done way more than $1000 damage to my home. The foster person assumes all responsibility for that. x2! I expect to pay for damages. I once worked with an org who got me to temporarily house a dog under a bunch of false pretenses (a dog I had only agreed to pi...

Re: American Bulldog help needed

All of her puppies have been adopted but no-one wants mama dog. she's going in for a consult on Monday for a possible THIRD surgery on her eyes. I don't know why the first two surgeries weren't complete. They looked good at first but during the healing the eyelids still roll back in, not bad and she...

Re: X rays prior to adopting?

If you're paying, I don't see the big deal. I would definitely look for an adult that's in the age range where OFA would be applicable though. Isn't that at least 18 months?

He's great with Rose, my foster American Bulldog but Molly (my Cane Corso puppy) treats him like her personal squeak toy...we are working on that with him and with the ca...

Rose is a very nice lady. House broken, crate trained, good with other dogs, good with cats. She's a little pushy but easy to manage

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_XkZkf_9so&feature=related Rose is getting her second eye surgery next wednesday. She had surgery a couple of weeks ago but they did not pull down enough eyelid and while she can see well, she still rubs her eyes. All of her daughters are getting spayed next week...

Re: Patterdale anyone?

My preference for Jazz the Spaz is to go to a pet home, one that would work him a little but he would not live outside or on a chain. That was his previous life and he's adjusted quite well to living in a home as a pet. He crates like a dream, quiet, respectful. He likes being inside and he likes la...
