Re: Collar mania - No leather??

I was sad to see Lisa discontinue her leather work. I was able to get Bruce's leather, chain martingale right before she announced it.

Bruce's next collar will be from Rebecca at Ella's Lead, though. I love her vintage inspired line!!!

Re: Can't find the perfect diet???

I've got Bruce on Acana which is owned by Champion who also puts out Orijen. I prefer Acana over Orijen since it has a little less protein content. Too much protein gives Bruce gas. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Acana though. :yipee: IMO it's the best dog food I can get besides switching to a raw diet, whic...

Re: Is Sch too......easy?

Dogs who do protection or SchH should not be DANGEROUS dogs and if the dog doesn't want to do this type of work or shows certain signs they SHOULDN'T be taught to bite work. Period. It creates a potentially dangerous dog. I am curious what signs are you talking about? Obviously a fearful or timid d...

Re: Is Sch too......easy?

Let me clarify what I mean. I was at a Sch trial is last weekend, just to observe. The dogs I saw passing were (to be blunt) unimpressive at the best, dangerous at the worst. I watched a Sch3 acting as a stand in for a BH, walk off the field (after the exercise had started) and get an e-collar beca...

Re: "Wrestling" with your dog?

Bruce also never initiates play. It’s only ever on my terms. I can see both sides though. Thanks everyone for their opinion! If he never initiates that kind of play, then I would maybe think he might not like it that much either? I dont know my dogs love to play I have tennis balls and ropes and st...

Thank you! I think I've seen that one at Petco as well!

I'm gonna have to stop by there and pick it up tomorrow!

Odor eliminator - lawn

Living in a garage apartment, we have a bit, but not a whole lot of "yard." Although Bruce does go on regular walks and pees while on walks he also is able to just go outside to go potty in the mornings and at night before going to bed. This is also where he poos frequently. And although I...

"Half-Breed Prince" Collar - Harry Potter ref

Ella's Lead added this font to her arsenal and I just LOVE this collar. Since Bruce is a Coonhound x I'm very much considering getting him a slightly smaller one. I've been a Harry Potter nerd for over a decade now and this is just AWESOME! (IMO of course) roflmao :nana: :yipee: http://i1125.photobu...

"Wrestling" with your dog?

How does everyone feel about "wrestling" with your dog? As in getting on your hands and knees and just sort of "rough housing"... but only "good" behavior is allowed. Like only mouthing, and obviously no hard biting, not TOO rough, (you or the dog.) I sometimes do this ...

Re: Top 5 Foods

I only perused this thread the past 10 pages or so since it’s so long. I was surprised to only saw one reference to Champion pet foods (Orijen and Acana.) I can’t say more amazing things about Acana!!!!! I absolutely LOVE the results I’ve gotten from it after feeding Bruce, TOTW and Natural Balance....

Re: Barking Deals

OMG! Awesome! Didn't know about Barkingdeals.com but am now signed up! Bruce doesn't really use a lot of toys or kongs or anything. IDK why... he would just much rather lay at our feet and wait for a scratch. He did JUST now start chewing on a nylabone-esque type chew toy. I've only been trying for ...

Re: Dremel use on nails

I've always had my dogs lay down and throw my legs over them. It's comfortable for me, I'm not hovering over them and feeling awkward or casting shadows on their feet (dangerous), and they never seem to mind. It works great for when they're feeling wiggly, too. Resting some of my leg weight on them...

Re: Dremel use on nails

Bruce has black nails and I only ever use a dremel now. The only thing is.... he HATES it! I've tried ALL kinds of things to get him desensitized to it. Started slowly, treats ever nail, only a little taken off at a time, etc. I've done it all. Is it bad that I've given up and just sit on top of him...

Re: Custom Leather martingales

:wow I love it!!! I was able to snag one from CollarMania before she stopped doing leather. (it's also a leather chain martingale and I LOVE it!!) Bruce looks great with it on too. His neck is so small though! (13.75"!) But I love, love, love that design! My bf would kill me if I got another fl...
