Re: Making muffins and suckling on toy like a puppy? Video

^^This. And aside from you needing to be able to get something from him if you need to (should definitely work on that - it should be pretty easy with some treats) he's so freakin' cute! The guarding isn't, but I just want to kiss his little sucky face!!! My bosses dog Buddy sucks on blankets but do...

Re: Help training a toy motivated dog

:goodpost: Have you asked them to hold his food for the day until you get there? I have found Chloé to be WAY more into training if she hasn't eaten since dinner the night before. I don't mean starve him, but he might be more into the treats and willing to work for them if he's not full of food alre...

Re: Duke Behavior Thoughts?

And, don't forget to breathe! 5-10 deep breaths in through your nose and out your mouth. In with the calm and happy and out with the stress and anxiety. I still have to remind myself of this every now and then.

Re: developing new anxieties?

Darla either vomits or just drools like crazy. Our vet was the one who said to try Dramamine, but I'm not sure of the dosages.

Re: developing new anxieties?

Are you sure it's anxiety and not car sickness? One of my bosses' dogs started getting car sick out of nowhere - she was fine for years and now they have to give her Dramamine for long car rides. Just a thought.

Re: Crates/Cages - Pads or pillows?

I use crib mattresses with slip covers that I've made with zippers so they are easy to clean. Chloé chewed EVERYTHING I put in there, even a "Chewproof" Kong bed, before I bought her the crib mattress. You can get a mattress for about $45 at Wal-Mart and I use fleece for the slip covers as...

My favorite is when my 6 year old, 73 lb, DA, sometimes HA, Thor suckles in his sleep. I just love it! I wish I knew what they dream about!

Tell the hubby that you can get a new cord for the a/c or have the original cord fixed relatively easily (if it's a plug into the wall type)...or do it before he gets home Friday :) Teenagers :)

Re: bedroom help

They need physical and mental exercise. Look for "work to eat toys" (ie. a kong) which may help him calm down at night if you give it to him when you put him in his crate for the night. Also, look for a good, positive method, trainer ASAP. You'd be surprised how much fun a basic obedience ...

Re: Group socialization near Pasadena CA

Charlie posted in the Gallery regarding a Pit Bull class at the LA Coliseum - not too far away...if I'm not mistaken (I might be) Tia at Villalobos used to have something to do with this class before they moved. If so, it should be positive reinforcement type training so that is good. Maybe PM Charl...

Re: smelly ears. dried up blood?

I have to clean both of mine's ears weekly (at least). I use the Vet Solutions ear cleaner that I get from my vet. She also said it can have to do with allergies. Chloé did get one infection when she was really young, but ever since I clean their ears weekly with the Vet Solutions and haven't had a ...

Also, you'll want to start getting her used to having her nails done pretty quickly. The more you do it, the more used to it she will get and will fight you less. You don't want to wait and have her turn into a spaz every time she needs a trim.

Re: dog fouling in house

As far as the pottying you need to treat him like a puppy, if you can't supervise him at night crate him, I would also take him out once at night, it may be he's not used to holding it that long, every time he goes inside that behavior is more ingrained and harder to break. He was probably allowed ...
