Well, I'm one for NOT having yet another law that regulates dogs and dog training... but I'm all for personal responsibility. If you have a dog and are interested in a class, ask to observe. Any reputable trainer will let you observe a class. Besides, there are so many different training styles and...

I think greenkozi meant if the training methods were acceptable, at least that's how I read it. Who is anyone to say a training method is acceptable to someone elses dog/dogs? As for our training method like I said before we utilize the no limitations method of e-collar training and we also use the...

Well, it depends on what enviroment you live in. If you are in a busy area, and have a dog who leaps out of the car, it can indeed wind up being a dangerous situation. Good point, but this is a pretty slow town to begin with. It was a good thing for me to read overall, and I am sure my petty views ...

I wasn't saying to FORCE them to walk together, nor was I implying that walking them together would fix the situation. All I was saying is that I believe separation to be a never ending vicious cycle that completely negates the possibility of fixing the situation. Obviously, forcing the dogs togeth...

ME, I was just wondering if you told the breeder and if they had anything to say about it. I'm always curious to see how various breeders react to being told they produced an iffy temperament. Please feel free to PM if you don't want to put it out there publicly. i've been following this, too, ME, ...

PBF transport to Nena! lol He looks to be in good shape though, somebody's been taking care of him. ok, i know you are probably being a little tongue in cheek about not dese...

Your boy is doing what his nature intended. It is not his fault. I stay at home with mine because I know they cannot tolerate another big male dog that might go sauntering into them. A muzzle is fine if that is what you go with, but it doesnt protect him. If he needs to protect himself he is sunk. ...

Also, I think the force of the tail wag comes both from the ass wiggle and the tail muscle. I believe most APBTs, of any tail length, have a strong wag. Ernie's has been known to literally cause leg bruises on people, and cries of pain. this seems to be a constant amongst pit bulls of all breedings...

i used a touch, or target to teach mac to stand. this worked find for stand, but nothing worked for stand for exam. as soon as anyone comes near him, he's all over wiggling, flopping mess. we were the stars of the class where we learned this command until this part, when the teacher pretty much lost...

If people want to keep human aggressive dogs, that's fine by me.. A problem I see is that word. What is a truly human aggressive dog? I am under the impression that few people have met one.I have had and, frankly, I would not dream to even try to work with such dog.Experience or not there is somethi...

i would venture to say that lots of us manage dogs that are not "perfect" representatives of the apbt standard on this board. less people manage dogs that have actually bitten, but as red says, there are plenty of people that have experience with pits that are nervy or "problem dogs&q...
