Martin's teeth are all ground down, plus he has a slab fracture of his canine (we think he tried to chew his way out of the attic in the hurricane, but who really knows?) The vets seem singularily unimpressed by them. I guess because they aren't infected/don't seem to cause him pain? Poor Tux. Good...

Try contacting your local humane society for info on low income/low cost spay/neuter programs... they have thyem in almost every state/county. fwiw, i would go with this too. often, shelter vets are super pros at s/n surgeries. they do a lot of them, every day. (i have seen some sloppy p...

JC - If you havent met the dog - I would not write the pup off. Just my opinion, and I understand exactly what you are saying by "drawn". Punkin was a dog I didnt feel like I was drawn too initially. (she was a foster initially though - one I thought it would be easy to adopt out because ...

is this the same dog that has demodex? talk to your vet about how going into heat and having mites will affect each other. one vet i know always recommends spaying prior to treatment for demodex.

i am a total outsider with no vested interest in this, but i just wanted to say a couple things: this dog has been thru a lot of transition in a short time. i haven't met her- but going from wherever she was to a shelter, pregnant, to a foster home for a few days to an airplane to a new home may hav...
