Re: Will parvo stunt at dog's growth

She is good on the weight to size thing. She is not fat or underweight that is for sure. She is filling a bit here and there. FDBGrrl yes 80 is a lot. My friend that had her parents say's they are both registered APBT though. I want to say Razors Edge and something else well known. Not that it matte...

Re: Crate controversy

P.S. Tell your friend that the dog in my Avatar (Maya) was left alone in the house that was before I knew any better. She ate through 2 doors (yes to get to the other side), chewed up couches, base molding, fences, stuffed animals, chair legs knocked over plants with dirt allover etc, etc, etc. :po:...

Re: Crate controversy

I'm with Snow on this. I crate my Lucy for about 7 hours a day, that is when I am working, I am a bricklayer and we have a lot of time off. I totally hate to do it but to think of of the damage she could do to my house or more importantly herself in those 7 hours I think the crate is a way better op...

Re: Containing puppy while working; suggestions?

Hey everyone. Should I start leaving her in the shed by herself randomly so she adjusts being alone before I actually have to leave for work for 8hours. Thanks. Yes definitely get her used to it. Little by little. I did not do this though I should have but Lucy finally adjusted. I should have done ...

Will parvo stunt at dog's growth

Just wondering because Lucy seems small to me at this point maybe 30+ lbs. She is roughly 7 month's old. I have met a few people lately that were told her age and they told me she is about full grown. I find that hard to believe. Maybe I'm used to Maya who was 80+ she was a hoss of a dog. Right now ...

Re: Parvo recovery-what can i expect?

Is the breeder covering the cost of her treatment? Parvo can rack up a nice bill. Yeah no kidding I could have got 2 Champion pure bred Blue brindle, red nose, happy tail free, cancer proof, English speaking with red brindle accents dogs for what I paid in vet bills In Lucy's first month's. And she...

Re: Parvo recovery-what can i expect?

Your story is making me tear up. I hope the best for you and yours. Like I said Lucy was in for 3 day's, though I caught it probably as early as you can. And she is fine so have some hope. I want some pics when she comes home. Here is my Parvo pup. She doesn't look sick anymore to me. There is...

Re: ChAnges in feeding habits

Thanks again JoeB for the ideas. I did use a Kong stuffed with food when she was young after the Parvo to get her interested in eating I could try that again. The fish oil thing is good as well plus it may make her shine eve more. I did put a tad of garlic powder on her food today which she than sca...

Re: Parvo recovery-what can i expect?

I am by far a nutritionist/vet etc. But from what I hear if she is gaining weight she should be fine. Basically if she is eating and not throwing up she should be fine. I just went through this myself about 4+ months ago. I brought Lucy home and a week or so later noticed the first sign (which I was...

Re: ChAnges in feeding habits

Thanks JoB. I really don't think it is a health issue, though I did at first think she might have been blocked up, that is not the case. I also did put in some moist food with it one day and she ate like she used to, she scarfed it down in no time. I have been leaving it out and she will eventually ...

ChAnges in feeding habits

A few weeks ago Lucy stopped eating like she used too. She use to be super excited at feeding time. She would also chow down everything fast. Now she may just sniff it and maybe eat a little bit, she will than nib le here and there till most of of is gone. She is a little over 6 moths old if that ma...

Kibble change (Fromm?)

I can't help with the food choices much. But yes rescues will love you for donating food. I donated an almost full bag after Maya passed.

Good luck
