Re: 4 months and still no down

I can't give any real advice other than keep doing what you are doing and it will come. It sounds like my Lucy she wouldn't do a "down" for anything. Than one day she did and since than she has been more than great with it. I also find she won't be so reliable on slippery surfaces like til...

Re: He's destroyed 3 crates..

I did the camera thing myself and I was quite shocked. Lucy went crazy fro just over an hour straight trying to eat the metal cage and well just freaking out the entire time until she exhausted herself and couldn't go on. She eve pulled the blanket I had on top through the cage and tore it up. She i...

Re: Stairs

Great suggestion Leslie. Lucy would NOT go down the stairs for a few weeks maybe 3 or so after we got her at about 8 weeks. She would go up them at a run but not down. I did what Leslie said after I thought she was big and strong enough to go down and now she runs down and jumps off the last 2 - 3 e...

Re: Advise on Food Products for Puppy

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought TOTW was labeled as "all life stages"

What would you suggest Misskiwi? I am in the same boat here, I have been feeding Chicken soup for the puppy.......... But I am about out.

On another note if I may when do you stop feeding puppy food.

Meat VS. Grain allergies

I was suggesting that grain based food was not the best for our dogs. When a vet (not my vet) told me I was wrong that dogs are more susceptible to meat based allergies than they are to grain based allergies.

What do you think?

By the way I left the debate alone, not knowing if I was right.

Re: She killed a puppy

unfortunately it happens. My friend has a 9 yr old mastiff and a 6 yr old cocker that were the best of friends since the cockers birth. The other night he came home to find the cocker torn to shreds. Go figure? :wow :crybaby:

She has not been licking it at all, she doesn't even seem to notice it at all. But I have been keeping an eye on it.

Re: A lump after a spay???

I am no expert but I have fostered 12 or so puppies that looked like that after their spay. It went away and they were perfectly healthy! This makes me feel better. It could very well be just normal after surgery effects. But she has been her normal super crazy psycho self which probably isn't help...

A lump after a spay???

Right around the incision is a lump on Lucy. I called the vet they said some swelling is normal. Also if I got too worried to bring her in and they would look at it. It is about quarter sized and pooched out a bit. Should I be more worried than I am? She is active and it doesn't seem to bother her a...

Re: Lucy is getting spayed this Fri

She is doing great. Funny that the vet suggested to keep her calm for a week. He is a pitbull advocate but does he really know the breed, you can't keep them calm, just aint happening. roflmao Just keep jumping and sprints to a minimum... you want to keep the tension off those sutures! Yeah about t...
