Re: Come! 3-2-1... HERE

Running away works wonders for increasing a recall. I always have someone hold my dog back, back up or turn around and run when practicing recalls. We need a fast and powerful recall for sports and this is how we train it. Good one Adrianne I use this myself, dogs love a good chase. On the other ha...

Re: Come! 3-2-1... HERE

Good to hear she is listening to something at least. "Come" is probably a bad word to use for a recall anyways it is used way too much and will loose it's meaning. I have played out "come" with Lucy. I am still working on her recall usually she just doesn't listen. A whistle usua...

Lucy is getting spayed this Fri

Well we are going to get her spayed this Fri. She is still young and small so it should be easy on her. I am a bit nervous, any time they cut in it could go wrong. But I'm pretty sure it will be all good.

Wish us luck.

Re: Collars or harness for walking?

Thanks Star and I know that she is just a baby. And really I am very impressed with her progress in the short time we have been walking. I am hoping that she will get it and I won't have to go to any length to get her to walk with a loose leash. She totally knows what "Want to go for a walk&quo...

Re: 10 weeks puppy, some concerns

Maya like bitter apple as well. My 2 cents is to do as others have said if your pup even grazes you with teeth say "OUCH" than get up and turn away for a minute or so. Than return to playing. The idea is that when you have teeth on you and you turn away you are taking away there funtime. H...

After all the searching I have done if it is a family dog it doesn't matter and I also have heard lot than is doesn't matter either way. Until I see positive proof one...
