Re: what do you do to keep healthy teeth?

Raw bones :) (not cooked, boiled, etc) Depending on size of dog, anything from chicken, duck, or turkey neck. Or beef neck even... It can count towards their daily nutrition as well, so you kind of adjust feeding accordingly. I've never brushed my dogs' teeth. My 9 yr old, at best now, looks like a ...

Re: More on Jasper...

Thanks Misskiwi, I just saw them referenced on the torn CCL sticky, lilangel mentioned them... Didn't even realize they existed! Is it something to get through vet? Or suppliers? Is there anything else left that I can do? Additives to food to boost....anything? I know keeping weight off is a given, ...

More on Jasper...

Jasper finished his 3rd wk of chemo this past Tuesday, "yay"!...Progressing nicely, has been in remission since first treatment...so far so good. If anyone remembers, last year, around same time, vets confirmed he had torn CCL. He's never had xrays done, just had vets "feel" his ...

Re: Cancer Treatment Experiences

I'm sorry you got that horrible news, never dealt with osteosarcoma, but have with a few other cancers, currently back to lymphoma with Jasper. I don't know how different they are in terms of chemo meds used, or how it affects the body. Jasper flew through his treatment the first time, never once ha...

Re: March Sucks

Cytology results came back, to confirm what I anticipated: Jasper's had a relapse, lymphoma's back.
We start treatment tomorrow morning...and am researching additional holistic treatments to tack on to conventional chemo...

Re: March Sucks

I knew full well what was going on, anticipated it for a few weeks... managed to convince vet of it. And still, when she came back with "I don't have good news" it was like a Mack truck hit me.

March Sucks

I've been a superbly paranoid mother to Jasper, past 2 years, after his lymphoma diagnosis. Last March, I was looking to eagerly share how he's been trouble free, only to diagnose a torn (or two) cruciate, which couldn't be mended because of his estimated time in remission (not long)... So, that was...

Re: What do you feed your dog?

The dogs get raw exclusively. Cats rotated between raw and canned Wellness or Merrick (or whatever of equal caliber). Am working on converting ferret to raw, she's just on canned right now.

Re: Tully's vet visit

:( I feel your pain on the frustration of not being able to diagnose something, that remains, or worsens...
I hope you're able to find an answer quickly, to be able to fix it (or stop it!)

Best of health to Tully!!
