Re: Victor Dog Food

There's only one local store that has it, and I paid $47 including tax for the grain-free joint health formula. The next closest store that has it is about an hour away, so I'm pretty happy with the price. We're still transitioning to it, so I can't say if I like it yet or not. Hopefully this is a g...

Re: 4 Health Dog Food

I've used it before and it gave my dog the runs. I don't know why, but we did the gradual transition and tried it for two months and he never formed a normal stool. We switched to something different and he went right back to being normal. It's rare that something will upset his stomach, and even ra...

Re: White dog with red skin

My computer refuses to recognize my camera for some reason. I can't upload any pictures, but her skin is looking better after our visit. The vet decided that she has a slight staph infection and that's what causing the inflamed areas to break out and get crusty. Her chest DID become a bit bumpy and ...

Re: White dog with red skin

The shelter has their own vet, but obviously they're only interested in keeping them healthy for adoption. She's seeing the vet at 3:15 today. I am currently her very small 1/3 cup 2x day of Simply Nourish salmon and sweet potato to get her switched over gradually. I've had her since Saturday, so it...

White dog with red skin

6 year old all white American Bulldog. When she was in the shelter the vet said she needed hypoallergenic food and they were feeding science diet. She has the bumps all over like dried up crusty zits that are shrinking. If you mess with them you can get the crusty part off very easily and it doesn't...

Green tripe is rumored to help with bad breath, and while it may be just a coincidence, I've experienced it myself.

Re: Not Keeping Weight Off As Easily?

I've fed TOTW High Prairie before and it actually made my dogs fat unless we doubled the exercise. These dogs were biking/treadmill at least four miles a day, swimming often, fetch, flirt pole, and lots of rough housing together. I cut down on the amount of kibble and they were able to maintain a be...

Re: Need help deciding on CCL surgery: what would you do?

I second the muscle mass bit. One of my parents dogs had both knees go partial tear within a few weeks of each other. They put her in a pool and swam her until she was exhausted every single day until they could get the surgery done. Her recovery time was minimal, which surprised everyone. A few yea...

Re: Update on Snow

Out of curiosity, if you are willing to share, how much was it to get the X-Rays? The X-rays where around 110 or so total. The total amount I payed to the vet today was 476. D: But at least this is the last planned BIG vet bill. Start saving right now. HD can lead to serious pain management and pos...

Re: Cropped ears, sunburn, dirt... a stick?!

The plate with peanut butter on it trick works amazingly with Roscoe getting his nails trimmed, maybe it would work with ear cleaning? You just spread peanut butter on a plate so the dog can lick it off, it keeps them distracted better than just handing them treats. That's a really good idea, thank...
